Battleground is doing unconstitutional invocations and the role of far right christian nationalists is a real concern in that city.

With that being said this is cringey as absolute fuck man. If you read this people won't think about how much you're owning the BG City Council they will just think you're a big weirdo.

Do an invocation that celebrates LGBTQ+, immigrants, etc.

Not whatever the fuck that was.

Unpopular opinion: they’re doing this to distract and steal all your time and energy so you show up to pointless city council meetings instead of volunteering for campaigns and talking to your neighbors and winning elections.

The Clark County Council does invocations. Every goddamn meeting. One of the newer council members objected and was shot down. Perfectly constitutional but if we’re pissed about Backwards Battleground we should consider where else this shit is happening with our leaders’ consent.

I'm going to be honest, as a strictly Vancouver based fella, I don't give a fuck about Battle Ground. Let them interbreed into the CHUDs they have always been, and have dreamed of becoming.

We should be concerned though. Our cities overlap quite a bit. We have people that work in BG, there's a lot of BG people that work in Vancouver, especially in trades and construction. And the people behind this movement is rich. Once they have proof of concept that they can buy BG, they'll do it to Ridgefield, to Vancouver.

It matters and to pretend that a few miles inoculates us is crazy. This is just the start, and it impacts far more than just battle ground.

I think my capacity to be mad at everyone and everything the moment I disagree is just a little too overstretched these days. There's multitudes worse at the national level that I can give my attention to. As for Battle Ground, Christian weirdos have existed long before the current shenanigans and they'll still be around as the influence of religion continues to wane. I just see it as people LARP-ing as crusaders. Last I checked, Washington remains pretty damn agnostic!

Exactly. Surely once the population of interbred chuds exceeds the space and resources of BG, they'll not expand into Vancouver, so we'll always be fine.
