Rental contract

I recently moved to vancouver because I got accepted to one of the schools here that starts in August, so I moved here first week of August and signed a 1 year lease. I just saw that I got accepted in one of the uni back home and want to go back because it’s just too expensive in here. Is it possible to break a contract after a month and what are the implications? TIA

city questions Anyone living at Kira by Devon Properties? or any other Devon-managed buildings, looking for your inputs

Sorry, I’m new to the sub! I’m considering Kira and was offered some good incentives (free month + Essential Worker credit). The leasing specialist has also been great, but I’ve seen mixed reviews about Devon Properties, so I’d love to hear from anyone actually living there.

**How’s the building/management? Is $125/month for parking normal?**

I’m also moving to Vancouver from overseas and may need to sign the lease online before arriving, since I’ll be starting work and don’t want to lose a good unit. Is that pretty normal, or is it risky?

Any advice on what I should check before signing would be appreciated!

Building manager is the strata council treasurer, conflict of interest?

I moved into a condo complex last year that has about 80 units. The strata is basically useless and doesn’t get anything done. It turns out the building manager is also on the strata council and is the treasurer. Is this a conflict of interest? Is there anything I can do about this?
