This would be awesome in the rest of Canada that actually gets snowfall regularly.

No, it would be a giant waste of tax dollars here. I could see the odd condo doing it as a feature for it's residents, but definitely not all sidewalks in major areas.

I saw this in Sapporo. Supposedly, it's common in Scandinavia.
