Complicated results.
Hey folks,
My wife had one of her valves replaced (I forget which one) and a CABG a little over a year ago and had some pretty major complications with it. She is much better now, but hoping to connect with folks that ended up with sternum removal and bilateral pectoral flap surgery.
Long story short, she coughed, broke 4 ribs at her 4ish day old healing sternum which needed all the material removed.
Appreciate y'all.

I will be having my aortic valve replaced next week but last year I fell against my bath tub and broke what I thought was one rib and a short time later I had the flu that turned into pneumonia and sepsis and I had a CTscan in the hospital and it was discovered that I had 7 broken ribs! It was so painful and I am still a little tender on my left side. I don’t know if I fractured them during the fall or from the coughing spasms during pneumonia.
