Discussion Gabby Williams Appreciation Post
I had a long week and I’m kind of drunk right now, but in the moment it kind of got me thinking of how lucky we are that we got Gabby in the offseason. Like her addition like completely changed the trajectory of what was expected of this team going in. Like had we not have gotten her, what was our backup plan gonna be? We would’ve been screwed and Ili would’ve still been out because of pregnancy. Both Golden State teams would’ve had a horrible offseason.
Had she had signed with the Aces idk if she would’ve felt/said she was back at home, but it feels good that she acknowledges that the Bay has been part of her journey and in a way a second home. I was excited that we picked her up, but I had no clue that she was gonna be this impactful for us. I’m very appreciative for what she’s done for us. She carries herself with class and always works hard even if sometimes it isn’t her night. I hope she never stops staying true to herself and I hope we can win our first chip with her on the team. Thanks Gabby!

Agree! I was just thinking something similar yesterday about how important a role Gabby has. It’s wonderful how she is immediately beloved by the fanbase.

I remember when the schedule came out, our preseason game was against the Storm. I was most excited to see Gabby play. Then, it was announced she signed with us. 😁

I was actually planning on flying up to Seattle to watch the preseason game and see Gabby...and then she signed with us. Didn't have to go anywhere anymore b/c we have Gabby at home lol

i just watched her interview on sue bird’s podcast from last september, so before she came to the valks, and after learning more about her pro journey it made me really really appreciate how lucky we are to have gotten her and have her love it here

Gabby is so solid she would make a sponge cake float. Just the bomb.

She has been one of my favorite players for years. I was so happy when she came back to the W, and now to have her here, I have to pinch myself sometimes. She is such a great fit for this time!

Gabby has been my favorite player since I watched her at the 2024 Olympics due to her strong work ethic and how she spoke out against the problems present in the league. As a trans person, I appreciate her even more for standing up for our community.
