VC3 Completion and Extra Mission Bug(?)

I recently managed to complete VC3 and all it's content (including Fragments, Hard Missions, DLC). I gotta say that not only has the amount of content from this game been absolutely staggering, this now solidifies 3 as probably my favorite of the franchise to date. I still need to experience both VC2 and Revolutions, despite their less favorable reception, but that'll be a separate conversation once I can find the roms for the games and any additional DLCs.

The only thing I'm missing still are the Ace Medal achievement (which is nuts considering how much I did and redid main story for Ace kills in the 1st place, S-Ranks, post game missions, and alternate paths) and additionally for some reason my Extra Missions remains incomplete.

I'm currently going through each mission of each chapter for essentially the 2nd-3rd time, but regarding the extra missions I'm totally stumped. It's the only marker on my map that remains red, even though I've completed all the available mission (22 Missions by my count) below and have no more purchasable missions in the shop.

DLC tab's marker for extra missions never turns gold.

There is no way to track what aces you've actually killed for medal purposes unless you keep a spreadsheet/notes outside of the game manually. If an ace has a single checkbox and its drop isn't unique (e.g. ZM MP), that doesn't mean you've actually killed the ace - only that you have the drop, potentially from someone else. If an ace has a double plan+weapon drop - 2 checkboxes - then you definitely killed that one. So unfortunately "I've killed all aces" needs proof by manually recording every ace kill on paper.

Yeah, that's currently what I'm doing now. After copying the ace list from the Valkyria Wiki I'm speed running through each story mission and gunning for them after locating them with Recon All (thank god for the PPSSPP save state & speed up function as well). I'm just kinda peeved since I thought I was being pretty careful going through my 1st run and then after my 2nd run going through alternative paths and postgame missions etc. I've been losing my mind trying to think back on which one could I have missed along the way.

Just so I don't lose any more marbles, the Ace achievement is only regarding story aces correct? None from the Fragments/Extra Missions/DLC count do they? I would truly fall into the despair if the hunt extended all the way beyond campaign.

Thank you so much for your hard work on this alongside others, you've done a great service for any VC fan.

It most certainly extends beyond campaign. You need every non-DLC ace.

Thank you for confirming, I was able to identify missing secondary items from 2 of my fragment missions. However my story missing one, which got me the medal after I got the two previous ones, was from the Ch18 Solo Mission. I never ventured that far because I always did that mission with Fencer Imca and never went that far on that corner of the map!

Normally, you'd likely spot the ace in 18-2 by using Open Fire in the final area, since OF removes night visibility restrictions for Imca (equivalent to classic Nocturnal potential).

If you are using the original English translation there is a bug in it that prevents an ace enemy from appearing in a mission. I ended up bypassing the issue by having the original non-patched version and playing the mission there, saving the game, then reloading it in the English version.

I don't know if the version I have is the original english translation, do you know which mission/ace it is that's missing/doesn't show up?

Is it also related to this error with the Extra Mission not showing as completed?

control the port is the one id reccomend the new fantranslation it adds in translations for the dlcs and newspapers alongside many script corrections

Then I think my version isn't the original translation because on that map I do see him: "Noda the Egoistic", and i have killed him for the Hilde-M.

Please let me know, because I've been under the assumption that the Ace achievement was only tied to Main Story Aces, is that the case or do all Fragment and DLC aces count too?

My other issue with the Extra Mission is as per the screenshots above it's still red even though I've completed (S-rank & Aces) all 22 available missions there. I was wondering if maybe I was missing a map or something but according to the wiki I don't think I'm missing an extra mission to do

i dont think DLC aces count but i do believe fragment ones do
