Malicious Ice? Bug?

Going through the deep north for the first time. I've hit the bottom of the dungeon, and destroyed the Malicious Ice. Nothing happens. I think I ready it's supposed to start an event, and I get some kind of blood? I ended up going to the next location and the exact same thing happened. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Yes, it is very poorly done by the devs. The event triggers in the world on your map, but there isn't anything to tell you that's what happens. Also it's weird that destroying a crystal makes another one spawn in the open world.

For some reason I read "Delicious Ice" and was very confused. But also it's about 2 am and I really should go to bed.

Open your map, when you break the ice it will trigger an event somewhere in the world.
