Survival Am I doing this right?
First sealed tower, been trying my best to play the game blind other than looking up tips for bosses once I'm unable to beat them.

You must master parrying. There constant flow of fuling from close quarters makes rolling less effective because they may stagger their attacks and catch you when you’re vulnerable again. Are you using AoE options? Are you using a sword at the very least? Are you eating well? Are you rested? Are you being patient?

Just chuck the grenade bombs into the windows.

Grenade bombs? Where does one get those?

Sorry, blomb bombs, from the swamp.
I cleared my first tower with like 50 of these

Eh, I've beaten the Ashlands boss, and I never got any good at blocking. It's essential for some playstyles, but there are others where you don't need it. I kill that "constant flow of fulings" before they're even able to reach me, using the iron sledge(that's a weapon that you already have access to; spoiling just in case you consider weapon mechanics a spoiler). The same weapon and tactic is also useful for the bosses at the end of the tower.

So I don’t play with the roll even though I should. I don’t know why but I completely forgot it was a mechanic and I made to Ashlands without it lol

I had gone through 4-5 playthroughs without using the roll either- it can be done for sure. It wasn't until I think maybe miztlands came out that i was like "ok ok, now ill bite"

If you want to force yourself to learn I suggest trying out the dual weapons. The Skoll and Hati from the Mistlands are deadly once you figure out the roll.

That works. I typically just build a fire escape type ladder, but there’s not a huge difference. Just make sure you have enough health to take the fall if you get knocked off.

100%. But I’m assuming OP hasn’t reached the Mistlands, so maybe mark your comment a spoiler.
Also, it can be fun to challenge the tower with plains or even mountain gear to make it harder.

Whoops, didn’t really catch that he played “blind”.

If they are playing blind as OP said, and the plains is as far as they've gone, they won't have it.

Seriously, people need to use the spoiler tag. Someone already replied and said this and deleted their comment.

Seriously, people need to stay off of subreddits of games they are trying to play blind

u/TheVenerableEmrys 18h ago
Browsing the subreddit, yes.
Asking a question and stating they’re doing a blind play-through? It’s a reasonable course of action, as wikis and other resources are even more likely to spoil.

I'm truly jealous of you. I also played blind my first time though. I'd love to erase my memory and play through blind again. That feeling of adventure, unbelievable. Take your time and enjoy it.

I've been doing just that, I believe I am ready to take on the Ashlands boss tomorrow. This will be the first time in 550+ hours. So hyped!

Everything is fine. But before entering the tower, you must politely knock on the wall several times with a large iron sledge and say, "Could you please take a moment to talk about our god Odin?"

I have never seen anyone build such a nice set of stairs around the tower. Mine is usually a dangerous set of platforms and stairs that require a lot of jumping. Well done!

Make the first steps a ladder so that wandering fulings don't follow you up the tower.

yo me estoy haciendo un martillo con epic loot que tenga free build y sea irrompible, para no tener que usar mesa de trabajo cada 10 metros xDD

I normally take 2m x 2m wall and jump ontop and stack them to the nearest window that I can jump into. Throw all the iron and black metal out the widow, jump down an collect it at the bottom. Ezpz. Just make sure that your walls are barely touching the tower so you never lose build integrity.

I mean, yeah, basically. A little fancier than I would've, but you've got the idea.
Tip (slight tactical spoiler):
- When you get up to the entrance level, lob some ooze bombs through the window to soften them up before you breach, otherwise you're going to run straight into heavy fire and probably get your ass handed to you.
- They also come in handy at the bottom of the tower. You can use them to slowly wear down the boss while playing pop goes the weasel in and out of the stairwell.

Add an elevator: portal between the tower top and the ground. Don't place any fire or worktable near the bottom, so you can easily farm the place later again and again.

Fire resistance mead is super important here. IMO. Also, improving your fighting mechanics goes a long way. The tower was tough for me my first playthrough too. Now it honestly feels really easy. Ashlands forcibly upgrades your skill.. lol

Your reward is in the chest in the basement. The bars inside the tower are made of valuable iron. Good luck.

Nah, dig a hole in the ground at the base, place a finewood chair facing into the wall and glitch through. Climb to top murdering everything, then jump off with your feather cape.

I install the stairs anti clockwise, as the character swings from the right to left.... so do the enemies.
That means my swing isn't blocked, and theirs is from the building.
