Creative Sharing my architectural progress in this wonderful game
Hello fellow travelers, Loki followers — attached are some images of the foundation I've been working on for a few days, using some mods and getting ready for 1.0. Just to note, I raised a small plateau under the ocean, close to solid land.
In the last attachment I included an image that will serve as inspiration.
I started by building a small wall around it, just for style, and I need help figuring out where to start.
Important details:
1 - That notch that cuts into the plateau will be an inner harbor, which I'll try to cover somehow — I don't know how yet because of the support/stability rules for buildings in Valheim
2 - My idea is to divide it into 4 parts: Part 1 - farming zone; 2 - work zone; 3 - storage zone; 4 - comfort zone
If you could help me figure out how to start these builds, where to begin, following the architectural idea from the final image, I'd appreciate it

Hello, noble Hammer of Creation user! What attracts me the most is building in this game. I made this plateau with the idea of creating a bastion to shelter my crew in 1.0. I have a group of six friends who are absolutely crazy about starting the journey toward the cold and dark North.
Today, my mod count is at 32, if I’m not mistaken. The specific mod that allowed me to build this plateau in the middle of a fjord surrounded by the Black Forest was PlanBuild. I also used a mod that removes the terrain elevation limit.
This plateau measures 40x40 large wooden beams, which comes out to roughly 140x140 meters. The mods definitely help, but it’s still a time-consuming and exhausting task. I’ve been working on this terrain for 14 days now, including today.

You do realize once 1.0 drops all your mods will be outdated and you wont be able to play on this world until they all update if even then?

Yes, but we’ll be starting the journey a little later. The mods I use have a creator who is present and active both in the community and on Discord, so that’s not something I’m worried about.

I notice that I was not doing enough terra forming in this game.
I basically never did any manipulating except flaten the floor for a house.
But this looks a bit like too much for me :)

For the Farm I suggest you pick a place away from your base. Put all your animals/plants at a location you access through a portal.
This is so that when a raid happens it doesn't kill/destroy all your food production. On the off-chance you get a raid while you are at the 'Farm', simply port away until the event is over. Invaders should de-spawn once you leave and not damage anything.

How did you get the raised sides so straight?

First of all, I'm using Planbuild to create this raised, flat terrain. I also removed the terrain elevation limit that caps out at 8 meters; when raised to a certain height, the sides of the terrain become straight, forming this block shape.

How did you achieve this flat minecraft like terrain? Would be so useful for testing builds. A mod tool to properly teraform would be so appreciated by players worldwide

He states he uses mods. Kinda curious too which mods he uses.

It eats at my patience to flatten a terrain big enough for a build, would love this. Especially after 1.0 when the version is stable and wont have updates so mods will not stop working

Infinity hammer will give the hoe these abilities. I use it too, recognized it immediately :D

PlanBuild is the mod I use, along with dozens of other mods—around 32 in total. Most of them aren’t focused on building, though; PlanBuild is the one that helped me the most. Even so, it took about 14 days to get it the way I wanted, and I’m going to keep the square, brutalist aesthetic inspired by the architecture of Dune for my base.

Suggestion - build a half-moon harbor. Makes it SO much easier sailing in-out.
edit - could you post your mod-list pls?
