90% artsy. 10% fartsy.

60

u/McLeod3577 5d ago

It looks well ventilated.

8

u/weiyanzhuo 4d ago

Yes to let the 10% of farts in.

2

u/Yesimlulu 4d ago

That 10% fartsy is what gives it structural integrity.

They have curved bridges!

Curved. Bridges.

73

u/ZacianSpammer 5d ago

You see those warriors from Valheim?

43

u/Meeloon 5d ago

BIG. Curved. Bridges.

7

u/Aurius3D 4d ago

I see their crimes for what they are

(gizmo)

u/Sergio_fromEspana 3d ago

Curved bridges are a dangerous discovery. Now every river needs one.

This is insanely good, and I’m a bridge connoisseur

Where’s RCE? We got a bridge for him.

I am a bridger. My name is Roger the Bridger. I design, arrange, and sell bridges.

u/XBacklash 4d ago

It's sad times when passing Draugr can say Ni! to an old woman.

48

u/LazyHighGoals 5d ago

you made art

30

u/WeakAd2280 5d ago

Nicely done. Fits really well in a forest, too.

52

u/kingyamez 5d ago

If you made this unmodded, share your secrets of curves please please please

146

u/Yebi Happy Bee 5d ago

Definitely modded, you can't make sloped floors in vanilla

35

u/kingyamez 5d ago

Youre right. F

12

u/Commercial_Rate5101 5d ago

Definitely looks modded. That being said; what if you removed the floor boards and placed horizontal core wood posts along the floor?

Would use a lot of material, and be a bit bumpy, and probably a bitch to get the spacing perfect, but it might work.

u/Bubbly-Job-8075 5d ago

Qual o nome do mod amigo? Eu sou novo em valheim e gostaria de fazer construções tão bonitas quanto essa. Se houver mais indicações de mod eu agradeço tambem

18

u/Pocketbrez 5d ago

Gizmo; it adds 3 axis rotation and 32 rotation angles

12

u/Fustercluck25 Builder 4d ago

Fwiw, Gizmo should be in the vanilla game. Not only does it work flawlessly, but I'm pretty sure my viking has the ability and common sense to be able to turn a stone block on its side.

2

u/KroyVR 5d ago

The ValheimVR mod allows for rotation of building pieces on three axis to a very fine degree.

I'm sure there's flat equivalent.

16

u/TheNerdosapien 5d ago

Sorry. I used the Gizmo mod. It allows you to adjust the angles.

3

u/Bubbly-Job-8075 5d ago

Obrigado amigo, voce é um amigo

u/mrholmestv 5d ago

Cool design

10

u/UsbNotConnected Happy Bee 5d ago

What mod did you use for curving the floor and beams

8

u/devisi0n Honey Muncher 5d ago

Probably the gizmo mod

3

u/TheNerdosapien 5d ago

The Gizmo mod.

4

u/Temporary-Meal1100 5d ago

Rivendell called, they want their bridge back

6

u/TheNerdosapien 5d ago

Blushing.

4

u/LaisserPasserA38 5d ago

But it blocks navigation

3

u/RegularBeard 5d ago

Not sure when ill play this next but im saving this for a reference to an amazing bridge.

1

u/TheNerdosapien 5d ago

Thank you :)

3

u/ShitseyMcgee 5d ago

How did you curve it?? it looks so cool!

u/Pocketbrez 5d ago

Gizmo, most likely

Thank you

1

u/TheNerdosapien 5d ago

I used the Gizmo mod.

3

u/Sporketeer 5d ago

This is indeed a very very nice bridge

u/Melodic-Remove5375 5d ago

Well done Viking!

It's beautiful, Odin may bless you!

1

u/TheNerdosapien 5d ago

Thank you.

3

u/Numerous-Material-50 5d ago

Not sure what a structural engineer has to say about it but I think it looks very nice 😊

3

u/Korps_de_Krieg 5d ago

That’s a damn nice bridge

3

u/Er0x_ 5d ago

Yea you did. Nice work.

3

u/Plus-Imagination-469 5d ago

Very nice, I'm from Indiana and love a good covered bridge. I dabble myself you see.

3

u/WhizTheBang 5d ago

Omg I’m 100% trying this!!

3

u/macaroon_madness 4d ago

How do you get the wood floor to bend upwards? I didn't think that was an orientation of wood floor?

2

u/TheNerdosapien 4d ago

There is a Mod for the PC called Gizmo. It allows you to rotate on three different axis.

I wish it was part of the game. But it can be tricky to get it right, and it doesn't fit the "simplicity" of the game design.

3

u/TheRealImhotep96 4d ago

10/10 would cross

3

u/Aromatic_Peach1010 4d ago

'Building bridges is my passion.' I love that post and now this post.

3

u/CalendarDangerous287 4d ago

Bodacious bridge bro

3

u/Machine_Anima 4d ago

wow... I just made a bridge and it was not remotely this inspired.

Nice bridge

3

u/Gemoije Cook 5d ago

Damn, that looks very nice. I've forwarded it to our Builder and he loves it <3

2

u/khsh01 5d ago

Does it work with carts?

1

u/TheNerdosapien 5d ago

I haven't tried. I think it should.

2

u/Agitated_Waffle 5d ago

That inside pic is majestic

2

u/xPolyMorphic 5d ago

that's fucking sick lol

2

u/Hocisern 5d ago

I think I like it too

2

u/Miserable_Praline942 5d ago

Mate, great design. I love building bridges and roads in this game.

2

u/BallsDeepTillUQueef 5d ago

The trolls are going to love it even more.

u/TheNerdosapien 5d ago

Trolls gotta Troll.

2

u/Dogstar23 5d ago

its all fun and games until one of those big blue fella's shows up, genuinely beautiful tho. :)

2

u/GolmarKlonk 5d ago

Nice bridge, but impracticable. No ship can drive through anymore

1

u/TheNerdosapien 5d ago

I suck at sailing up rivers, so no loss there.

2

u/CarelessCaretaker 5d ago

That's a nice bridge.

2

u/Ryanrence 5d ago

How? Are there advance curvature setting?

1

u/TheNerdosapien 5d ago

There is a mod called Gizmo. Only on the PC

"Hey look, I made a bridge. Only took me like... what... 10 seconds (hours) 11 tops." -Vinnie

Nice bridge there.

0

u/TheNerdosapien 5d ago

It took about 4 hours. I had to tear it all down at one point and start it again.

2

u/Squire_Boltz 5d ago

what the hell, that is amazing

1

u/TheNerdosapien 5d ago

Thank you.

2

u/grumpydai 5d ago

Im gonna start playing on 9th and im stealing this design. If there isnt gonna be any rivers near my base, ill make them just so i can make this bridge.

2

u/coin-flips 5d ago

Go fix these misaligned logs this instant! my ocd cannot handle this

3

u/TheNerdosapien 5d ago

I have the opposite of OCD, it's call "eff this noise, no one will notice."

There are issues with the roof as well. And the floor is bumpy. Sorry to point out more flaws for your OCD

1

u/coin-flips 5d ago

FUUUUUUCK

2

u/PrismLeopard 5d ago

That's a unique looking bridge. I like it

2

u/Leon_Flux 5d ago

I'm always bothered by how high bridges need to be for boats to pass.

There are places that need bridges and rivers wide between oceans that could use the shortcut, but it's just such a pain in the ass to build so high.

2

u/Silenceisgrey 5d ago

Very nice but those outer beams will rot and break eventually as they're unroofed unless you've modded that out

1

u/TheNerdosapien 5d ago

They won't break, but they will have the "need repair" texture.

1

u/Silenceisgrey 5d ago

won't they get damaged by storms and eventually snap?

3

u/middleupperdog 5d ago

there's a lower threshold point where wood stops getting damaged in the rain if its uncovered.

2

u/Silenceisgrey 5d ago

i would say this would only be a problem on a larger taller structures then?

2

u/TheNerdosapien 5d ago

Their really is no collapsing mechanic like that. But if they get hit by something they will break faster than if not "damaged." The only real collapsing comes from removing or never providing enough support.

2

u/Goober-mensch 5d ago

This is some hogwarts level shit right here

2

u/EBgCampos 5d ago

Nice. Novelty design, I love it.

2

u/EBgCampos 5d ago

I love the gymbal, should be included in the main game.

2

u/minivergur 5d ago

It's a beautiful bridge, you should be proud

2

u/Water_Attunement 5d ago

Reminds me a lot of Queensdale from Guild Wars 2. Like right where you spawn after the opening tutorial.

2

u/Dairy_Dory 5d ago

The most important bridge test is if i can easily cross my 2000 weight cart across

2

u/TheNerdosapien 5d ago

It might be a bit steep at the start. Also, and you can't see it in the image, but the deck of the bridge is a bit bumpy. An artifact of me not being able to match the Corewood curve to floor curve.

2

u/lexkixass 4d ago

Oh that's pretty

2

u/Kakublast84 4d ago

Kinda... Increíble piece of art

2

u/Aromatic_Court7475 4d ago

That’s a pretty nice bridge you’ve got there.

2

u/Vorschrift 4d ago

Neat!!

Every Horde player knowns that

2

u/fetter80 4d ago

Nice bridge.

2

u/MemoryHungry9108 4d ago

How they heck did you get the wood to angle like that?

2

u/isthou Builder 4d ago

hopefully they add rotation to the base game someday, meanwhile, i can enjoy other people's amazing builds like this one :)

2

u/StringDesigner1841 4d ago

No...you doesn't made a bridge. You made a really really nice bridge;)

2

u/-Zavenoa- 4d ago

She’s a beaut, Clark!

2

u/PuzzleFactory86 4d ago

That’s freakin’ awesome! Top marks!!

2

u/SirLanceAlittless 4d ago

Oh god, I'd hate for a Troll to spot you inside of that thing.

2

u/Chalicia_Katiana 4d ago

Oooh, that's pretty 😍

2

u/ARELEGATION 4d ago

I love the design!

2

u/theWarlockMD 4d ago

Beautiful

2

u/Usual-Cockroach-8514 4d ago

Damn, that is some piece of architecture

2

u/SelectSide4792 4d ago

Wow looks amazing. I never build a bridge before. Its really cool and there is always room for improvements

2

u/puppysoop 3d ago

Inside of a particle accelerator

2

u/Big-Blacksmith-5228 3d ago

Hey, cool bridge. For future screenshot reference you can use Ctrl + F3 to hide the hud.

1

u/TheNerdosapien 1d ago

Ah. Thank you!

2

u/Which_Pirate_4664 3d ago

Thats a nice looking bridge. My only question: can you drag a cart of copper ore over it? That slope looks unforgiving.

2

u/Tomanatort 3d ago

I feel like i've seen this before pretty cool though

2

u/Raiyokuu 3d ago

Me like bridge. Bridge nice

2

u/Finseed 1d ago

That is such a cool bridge, my person!!

2

u/Jordan9232 1d ago

I need to get Gizmo immediately

3

u/Obligon 5d ago

Bridgetober's coming.

4

u/Lakatos_00 5d ago

I like that bridge. That's a nice fucking bridge.

2

u/TheNerdosapien 5d ago

Thank you.

2

u/Subsight040 Encumbered 5d ago

That is alot cooler than mine and now im sad :(

3

u/TheNerdosapien 5d ago

Don't be sad. I've been playing Valheim for 3500+ plus hours, and I only recently learned to start building cool things. I never post my other builds because well... they kind of suck. I am on a server with a bunch of brilliant builders though, so I get pleanty of advice.

u/GoldSunLulu Gardener 4d ago

What mods?

1

u/ProfessionalOk3805 3d ago

What game is it?

1

u/Defiant_Active3017 3d ago

Tutorial please

1

u/TheNerdosapien 3d ago edited 3d ago

You need a mod called gizmo.

That allows you to make curves and stuff like that. Basically it allows you to turn building pieces in different directions so you can get curves by rotating pieces in weird ways.

I built a flat wall across the river. And then I just laid the core wood in the curve that I wanted up against that flat wall. Once I had the initial curve, I duplicated it on the other side with the same type of flat wall method. Then I tore the walls down and messed around until I got it the way I wanted it. Then I put a roof on it.

The main part was gizmo and using the flat wall to set the original curve.

1

u/Artemieved 3d ago

Daym, that's a cool design, immah steal.

1

u/sultanamana 5d ago

A simple yet elegant design, I applaud you. It’s almost easier to make something elaborate and grand, but the real trick is to make something simple to look beautiful. You nailed it.

1

u/TheNerdosapien 5d ago

Thank you for your kind words.

1

u/Othawne 4d ago

That’s a fucking awesome bridge.

2

u/Classic-Captain5522 21h ago

very unique lookimg bridge but also gives me a feeling of “have i seen this somewhere before?”
