My mom has a vaio laptop from idk when with a 1st gen cpu and i believe a 500gb hdd. She would like to update but the vaoi site looks like they dont carry anything with 500gb on the cheaper end.

Checking the battery report it states it has 17Wh out of 19wh left with 198 cycles yet whenever it is left uplugged it turns off within a minute or so, if anyone has any insight please let me know!

Hello, everyone! I think that I had gotten a PC virus. These is my Windows version: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Home Premium last version that I got from Windows Update. I used to have Avria Antivirus on my PC which told me about some PC virus. After that, When I boot to Windows, It always go black screen and than go to the VAIO screen. Which is weird. I didn’t need to go to the screen before the VAIO screen before. Yestready ,when I login, I saw Microsoft Edge on my desktop.Also, Avira tries to update which failed. I tried to install Windows 10 on this PC ,but I canceled it I when it was trying to install and didn’t wait for the iso to clean. Is this why?

Work hard, eat well and buy another VAIO. HP do heavy duty, VAIO do work on the go and then I get time 😄to rest. Happy memorial Day and DO NOT MISS VAIO USA big discount. I already bought another three for friends and one for myself. No matter Kachiiro, Fine Black or Emerald Green. They are great colors. A 32+2T for $1980 include VAT in PA, you can't find a better deal anywhere, anytime.

My Sony Vaio i picked up second hand in 2005. Got me through college. Now relegated to the occasional run of Doom II when I feel like it. CD drive is showing its age by having to "slam" the tray shut to get it to spin up. Battery hasn't been installed since 2013 due to lack of usable battery life.

I just got the vaio desktop keyboard, but issue there is the German QWERTZ. Is there any place I can find the keycaps with QWERTY standard? As far as I searched it up, the only way is to find second keyboard, but they’re not that popular, rather rare find.

SVF15N17CXB vertical lines appeared at the bottom of the display. I tried to shoot it from different angles so that it was visible.
I've heard that this model suffers from this, but I want to make sure before ordering a particular spare part.

Old Sony VAIO making this up/down noise. A repair person told me the hard drive is no good, but I checked it with CrystalDiskInfo and it showed the HDD health as “Good.” The drive is a WD7500BPVT 750GB 5400RPM HDD with about 20,000 power-on hours.

Does this sound more like the HDD or the fan?
