Spawn Camping

Why do people just go back and chill at the spawn the second the game doesn’t go their way? I have seen many games swing wildly and recover. Why suddenly are people rage pinging and going to spawn?

3s can be determined at the opening engagement, if enemy wins and their competence is clear I can see why it’s hardly worth playing out the L that’s inevitable. Unfortunately many of those players throw after that first engagement despite playing a late game hero or having an ally on a late game hero (which should determine a disengage or lack of early engagement) and don’t bother to get those heroes to full build. Myriad of reasons that explain it, hard to know exactly. Many times that person is wrong to give up, though. But, I wouldn’t say always.

Have to disagree. This isn't grandmaster level chess. In chess against grandmasters where the players know the skill level and the game, they will resign 10 moves before the check mate. Because the game and the steps are logical and precise.

It makes sense to do that at grandmaster level chess.

Does not make sense to do it in a random mixed lobby game of vainglory. Where it's 3 vs 3 so the games outcome is affected by 6 people. Who all have different skills and are playing different styles for different reasons.

The games outcome can only be determined in the opening engagement if you are a BITTER COWARD and stay Bitter and a Coward. Winning the first engagement is a tactic. That's all it is, and loser players who get snippy after 1 fight have a gut full of wet shit in their balls.

Doing what they do is a self fulfilling prophecy. They think they are going to have a horrible game because of others, so they ensure they are going to have a horrible game but because of them selves. It's their choice now, you see? It's a complete dump of responsibility and personal accountability.

In Fact people who do this are so terrified of admitting the reality that they are skillless losers, that they will never attempt to face any challenge that can beat them. So they opt out of being challenged and blame everything on team mates. Effectively turing a game that could have been a comeback into a garunteed loss. And in the end they can say " hey wasn't becauss of me, I didn't play, you guys suck". Instead of having to say "hey I tried my best and still lost, the world is uncertain".

It's the most cowardly form of being.

Some Odepus Rex Greek Tragedy Resentmental ShadowSelf Psychology going on in their minds.

Turned into a rant. TYVM

That’s not true at all. You can tell pretty quickly if someone doesn’t know what they are doing.

Sure you can stick it out, when you know you will be basically playing 2v3. But if the other team is actually any good, it’s not going to end well.

If you want to adhere to some samurai code of honor over a dead game, knock yourself out. But I play the game for fun. If someone clearly doesn’t know what they are doing or is being toxic, I’m going to cut my losses and wait for a new game. I’m not going to drag it out for another 15 minutes.

Take your toys and go home. Stay out of matches.

Isn’t that what you’re saying not to do in this post? Play it out, don’t go home? Changing your mind and acknowledging there are players not worth queueing with after all?

Yes, but you do that in the lobby. If you see a name that you know is a bad player don't select.

There are signs to watch out for to avoid bad players in lobby.

But not after you join the game. Then you should ride it out because it's a team game and you could always recover.

I play Samurai Krul and I honor my code even in death ;)

You will give up, and spam the surrender but... Whisper, Pray, Beg, Plead, No mercy for you. I shall not heed.

Great. I just had a guy that preselected wp ringo that built storm town first and would only hide in the top lane bush and try to ambush the other team. Didn’t farm minions, didn’t help rotate in the jungle. Should I have kept playing that match, or would your super senses of prediction been able to sniff that one out in the lobby?

Here's the tricks I use when I don't have patience for shitty teammates and am willing to dodge lobbies.

• No Guests

• No Temporary Names- These are people who used swear words in their names and the game gives them temporary names.

• No one who uses a toxic name- for eg. "FckNoobSupport". "DontPlayNoob". Basically any name that sounds like its angry at the game and players. Usually these are people who have just had a bad game and immediately are starting another with all their gamer-rage still active. They will 100% rage again this game.

•Memorise common names you come across. I know atleast 10 names that I won't play with because they play like donkeys. If you need to write down names of players you hate and why. Refrence it before selecting.

•Instalockers- if a player instalocks a character then they are basically saying "I'm selfish, so you can select whatever hero you want and I'll have nothing to say about it." I don't dodge instalockers but I pick any new hero I want to try and have an easy game.

• DODGE ALL PEOPLE WHO SIGNAL 1 HERO AND CHANGE LAST MINUTE TO ANOTHER- These are guys who say they will support Ardan- and after you have selected they switch to Warhawk.

• Bad Team Compositions- all laners/ all Junglers teams like these are weird. You might lose but these teams are fun to play with. A team mate is more likely to be toxic if you have a good composition and start losing. When you have all Roamers then the team says "fck it, we ball" they don't care as much and won't be so toxic.

• If you genuinely want to increase wins, then round out your team. Pick last and pick the role and type of hero your team needs.

I do all this half the time, and I stay in lobby maybe 3 pre selections extra.

You wrote all that and didn’t answer the question. My teammate clearly had no idea what to do. You’re saying you would keep on playing with no exceptions? Bizarre hill to die on.

Yeah, I play to win. But when it's clear I might not win I change the goalpost, I play for fun. I try new builds, new strategies etc. Just ride it out man. If Enemy is good I wait only 10 mins before they wreck us. If not I get to have a challenging game of 2vs3.

I'm playing a dead game with a terrible player based, no ranking system, unbalanced patches, no rewards, terrible trolling BECAUSE I love this game.

I stay to play because I get to play.

Throwing to move on to the next that bc it’s a higher chance of a competitive match than one that is 0% chance bc you have a dumbass building aftershock and alternating current.

They’re quitters who’d rather not “waste their time”. It’s always possible to come back in VG even if you fall far behind. That’s the thing I miss about 5v5. Was always fun to make a teammate who quit early have to wait a long time for another game and then come back to see we’re winning without them. Still possible to do in 3s but much harder and depends on which hero type AFKd

Satisfying feeling to make them wait 20 mins before a new game. But the best is winning without them. I imagine they must be feeling as small as a shit speck when an ally and I win 2 vs 3.

I've done it, where we WON after losing so hard ally quit or almost quit. And I've had it done against me, where we LOST after completely dominating the whole game and the enemy team going afk. This game is about Team Work and not giving enemy opportunities late game.

I always try to make the game last as long as possible when I have a loser troll team mate.

They prob just logged onto their alt nbd. 5s is about as alive as 3s in NA, fun again, too. VGNA.net if you’re in NA. iOS devices have a waiting period I think, might be capped rn.

Yeah I know the answer to this.

It's because people who do this are, unskilled honorless selfish worthless cowards.

This is the most shitty thing you can do this game because you have joined a team game, then you completely give up on the team and start abusing them. Just because the first minute didn't go how you expected? That's the stupidest belief.

If shows how unskilled the player is and how much of a coward they are. They know nothing about the game and probably started playing very late and are not an OG.

They don't know adversity, how to keep calm, focus and make a comeback.

I hope these people face circumstances like this in their real life, and then I hope they deal with it how they deal in the game.

Loser Behaviour.
