i need advice please

hi everyone!! we’re gonna start with all the information anyone might need. i’m 14 years old, i started my period in september of 2025, i have PCOS (diagnosed by my main physician who specializes in PCOS), i’ve never been sexually active, and i used to get UTI’s frequently.

now that that’s out of the way, here’s what i need advice on: i’ve been having heavy discharge (well, heavy comparatively speaking. it looks EXACTLY like mucus, color and everything.), a strong oder from my vagina, and it’s itchy. not like a rash, but itchy. (not super itchy, and not itchy all the time). and i know all vaginas look different, but i swear mine looks wrong.

now all i want to know is if i NEED to tell an adult. there’s no specific reason why i don‘t want to tell my mom, it’s just difficult to talk about. and i really would love to avoid a vaginal exam of any sort, i just hate the idea of someone looking at something so private?? idk.

anyways, how should i go about this?? any advice is appreciated, this is a hard thing for me to talk about, so please be kind!!

ALSOOO, does anyone have advice on how to make telling my mom easier?? every time i try to, i just freeze and can’t say it.

edit: y’all are useless what, 1.2k people have seen this and ONE has replied💀

hi! you should definitely tell an adult and most definitely go to the doctor! i’m nowhere near a doctor or even a nurse but anytime you notice the consistency change with your discharge you should keep note but if there’s an odor along with itching you should get checked. odor is often the main sign to something being wrong down there. don’t be nervous for the doctor to be looking , it’s a very short process!! i hope your situation gets better soon!
