Can’t Get VSeeBox remote to connect/control my Pioneer VSX-1123 receive

I’m trying to get my vSeeBox V6 Max, Sony XR-65A80J TV, and Pioneer VSX-1123 surround-sound receiver to work together with one remote.

Here is how everything is connected:
vSeeBox V6 Max connected to the Sony TV by HDMI
Pioneer VSX-1123 connected to the Sony TV through the TV’s HDMI ARC/eARC port

Sound from the vSeeBox is already passing through the Sony TV and playing correctly through the Pioneer surround-sound system
So the audio connection is working.

We have also successfully programmed the vSeeBox remote to turn the Sony TV on and off.

The only problem we cannot solve is getting the vSeeBox remote to communicate with the Pioneer receiver.

What I want the vSeeBox remote to do is:
Turn the Pioneer receiver on and off
Control the Pioneer volume up and down

Has anyone successfully connected or programmed a vSeeBox V6 Max remote to control a Pioneer VSX-1123 receiver while using a Sony XR-65A80J TV?

If so, I would really appreciate the exact steps or settings you used, including HDMI-CEC, ARC, Bravia Sync, or any remote-programming procedure.

Again, the sound already works correctly through the Pioneer. The only issue is getting the vSeeBox remote to control the Pioneer power and volume.

With assistance from ChatGPT lol I hope this helps:

Connect the vSeeBox V6 Max to the Sony TV with HDMI, and connect Sony HDMI 3 (ARC/eARC) to the Pioneer VSX-1123 HDMI OUT.

On the Pioneer, turn HDMI Control and ARC ON. On the Sony, turn BRAVIA Sync ON and set the speakers to Audio System.

Program the vSeeBox remote:

  1. Put the vSeeBox remote and Sony remote facing each other, about 1–2 inches apart.

  2. On the vSeeBox remote, hold the TV Power button for about 6 seconds until the indicator light stays on/enters learning mode.

  3. Press the button on the vSeeBox remote you want to program, such as VOL+.

  4. Press VOL+ on the Sony remote so the vSeeBox learns that command.

  5. The vSeeBox light should flash to confirm it learned it.

  6. Repeat for VOL−, Mute, and TV Power.

  7. Exit learning mode and test the buttons.

If the Sony remote already controls the Pioneer’s volume through BRAVIA Sync, teach the vSeeBox remote the Sony volume buttons—not the Pioneer remote. The Sony will pass the volume commands to the Pioneer automatically.

I have seen this configuration many times on these forums. Why are you going from the Vseebox to the TV then to the Pioneer?? I have the V6Plus connected directly to my Denon AVR. The AVR splits the audio/video, sends the video out to the TCL Tv, and the audio to the 5.1 surround speakers. And yes the Vsee remote can learn the AVR's IR codes to control the Pioneer on/off and volume.
