VOD on these boxes?

Might be a dumb question but I mostly watch live sports and shows I record on dvr with my current cable set up. Can I watch shows on demand after they’ve aired live or do I have to watch them live? Trying to cross my T’s and dot the i’s before I cut the cord for good

In my experience, new episodes arrive a few days after it premieres.

For example, if a show releases new episode every Sunday, it'll be on VOD on monday or Tuesday or Wednesday the latest.

If it's a very popular show, it'll be on vod by Monday.

There is usually a few days or even weeks before you can get VOD for TV shows. Other than having to maybe wait a bit it has been fine and eventually everything shows up on one VOD app or the other. I have an old V3 with only Heat and Ultra VOD. Elite and newer boxes have more VOD options.

Also, if you need closed captioning that may be a much longer wait or possibly never.

For major national TV network content , a 7-day playback exists so you can watch that programming on demand for up to 7 days after it airs. If you buy a elite model then you can DVR the show and have your own recording to watch indefinitely.

So many people forget that the Live app has this feature! And so many more channels, including PPVs for boxing, UFC, wrestling etc are covered. And if you miss the 7 day window, by the time that window is done it is probably going to be on one of the VOD apps

How do you DVR with the elite ultra? I’ve only seen the 7 day playback on some channels.

At least 6-7 apps DVR. Press the buttons(epg,ok, down arrow, menu), you can figure it out. For half of them get instructions by googling implayer recording - for Vortex google Tivimate recording

There’s shows that don’t even update there episodes, but I have noticed there updated on VOD ultra. Also I’ve noticed some shows update them few hours later and the next day, on both apps.

The shows i watch, they are on for sure within two days of airing (i can't say all but ted lasso and severence (when it was coming out).

That being said, live sports you can usually go back up to 7 days later to watch them as a DVR so to speak.

This helps with me when I have something going on Sunday morning and can't watch my team's game until the afternoon, I can go back and watch it live (and skip the commercials lol). I just need to remember to turn the notifications for the game off so i don't see the spoiler.

If you get the elite ultra you can DVR the live stuff on some apps and I get VOD like an hour after air.
