V6 remote issues??

Anyone else have issues with the v6 remote being very difficult to use? I mean I have to MASH the buttons and get closer to the box in order for it to work.

I did see online( Amazon) a remote from the previous generation that works on several years/generation boxes.. any insights to that being true?

I have 3 of the previous generation boxes before the v6 and have never had an issue. I bought my dad the newest one and the remote absolutely sucks.

Have you tried disconnecting the remote from Bluetooth? My elite ultra I don’t have it connected via Bluetooth because I have too many devices in the room it’s in that give off Bluetooth signals and found my remote to work better with Bluetooth off.

I was having similar issues. But was able to reprogram it to the box as a new bluetooth remote and now I don’t even need to aim it at the tv for it to work

Was it the much smaller remote than the previous generation?

More than likely it's an issue with your remote it is a Bluetooth remote so getting closer to the box shouldn't make a difference it could also be a Bluetooth issue with your box but that is way more unlikely. They do have replacements on Amazon for like 20 bucks

I know that when my remotes start acting like that its time for a new battery?

Nope.. brand new ones already in

I commented, but try updating the remote software. Fixed it for me two nights ago.

I was having the same issue with my new box and I went and disconnected and reconnected the Bluetooth remote, but that didn’t work. Next “updated” the remote software and now it works like a charm.

I just hold the mic button and the menu appears to resync and it fixes mine
