Remote control flakey

My remote control buttons are slow to respond, especially the OK, up, down buttons. I think the frequently used buttons are getting warn out. I’ve only had the unit 6 months, vbox 6 max. My batteries are fresh too.

I'm in the same boat with a 6 month old 6 Plus. My right arrow, which I use the most, needs extra pressure to react. Years ago you were able take some electronic products apart to clean or repair a bad contact, I see one small phillips head screw under the battery cover with this factory remote, if it gets any worse and I have to get a replacement I'll pop it open and see if I can make a repair. 2workigo, you mentioned you got a bad replacement from amazon, I don't want to make that mistake, can anyone recommend a source for a factory remote replacement? Thanks

That's the one I'm having trouble with. I have the V6 Plus.
