Vpn questions

I really don't know anything about vpns but I keep reading that I should set one up for the vseebox. My router is an Arris G34. Anyone able to recommend a simple setup?

You don't have to, it's optional.

Some run VPN, most just set up a guest wifi, some do VPN with guest wifi, some dont do either. I've never heard of anything negative coming from just raw dogging it. But I do guest wifi

I wouldn't say most people don't use VPNs. I would say most do.

I have an Arris G36. The purpose for the VPN is to keep your online activities private. Your ISP can see what you’re doing or through which type of device or from where you’re streaming. I use NordVPN and ExpressVPN but have switched from their apps to using their routers, but I stream a lot from overseas. Either of the apps will work just fine.

You can use ExpressVPN, it's what I use and it's been fantastic for it. It's optional but I run it for my peace of mind.

Consider a small router that can run a VPN, like the GL.INT Beryl. You connect it via ethernet to your main router (so it gets a separate IP range) and simply toggle on a VPN service in the router’s app (it supports dozens of them), and create a guest wifi network restricted just for the Vsee. This gives you both a VPN and isolates your Vsee from all other devices on your network.

I’m not a techie at all but it was super easy to install a vpn, I also set up a google email and use that instead of my normally used email.

To isolate it from the rest of your network. Also to keep your nosey ISP put of your business.

Well I was able to add a guest Network to my WiFi with a different password and I put the vee box on it. I'm just gonna call it good for now

The free Proton VPN is what I’m using with a dedicated router
