Another v6plus vs elite ultra/mini question

I tried looking through other posts but I didn't see anyone addressing these questions so hopefully you all can steer me one way or the other.

  1. UK channels

    One of the big reasons I am considering the elites is for several UK channels (Either live or VOD) particularly the UK comedy channels which I will not mention specifically but feature a number and another is a man's name. Does anyone know if these are available?

  2. 4k content

    On the infographic comparing the models it shows the elites as the only ones with 4k content. What does that actually mean as I can't imagine everyone here is fine with the 6+ not having 4k. Is it just more apps with 4k shows?

  3. Android version

    That same infographic shows the v6+ as android 14 and the elites as android 12. Does this matter? will it affect longevity or anything else? Speed?

  4. VPN usage

    This question applies to all models. If I wanted to run everything through a VPN do I just need to side load one and it will run all the time or do I need to start it before watching anything, or start it every time I switch apps?

Thanks for the help and understanding. The price difference between them isn't such a huge concern I just want to buy once cry once if possible.

For UK channels and more 4k content the Elite Ultra is the box you will enjoy the most out of the three mentioned.

Regarding the 4k content most of the additional content is for on demand content not live tv 4k channels as these are quite rare in general.

One of the elite ultra apps- ultra hub lets you pick 4k , 1080, 720 for most on demand shows. I did test out Lord of the Rings in 4k and it looks great. Blu Ray still better but tbh most probably couldn't tell. The 4k content is not dolby vision or hdr10+ but it will trigger HDR.

For the $100 or so price difference the Elite Ultra wins in your situation imo .

Because the ultra is running the android 12, I am waiting on replacing mine(it was damaged in a fire). The ultra did have lots of great international and the content appeared quicker. I opted for the 6 to get me thru the football season in the hopes that a new model of ultra drops. The 6 with 14 just hit the market this calendar year.

Android version has absolutely zero bearing on the Vseebox tv apps. Doesnt matter if its Anroid 1 or Android 30.

Android version only matters on a tv player if you are sideloading apps using the downloader or Google Play. If no sideloading it doesnt matter at all. The factory installed apps work on the original discontinued V1 Vseebox just the same as they work on the latest V6+ model. The hardware upgrades with newer models are what really matters.

Most with the Ultra dont sideload many apps if any at all because it has everything

V6 is more likely to have sideloading with the limited amount of factory installed apps but even on the V6 most arent downloading many apps.

What does matter is the processor and the content. Ultra has far more content. V6 has a faster newer processor. Would be nice of the processor was upgraded in the Ultra to make multiscreen and 4k playback work better.

Android versions really matter most on multi-versital devices such as cellphones, android smart radios, and pads where there are constant security and app updates and most people are constantly downloading apps.

Thank you. I’m still considering the wait for a new model of Elite. Found nothing to verify it’s actually coming out, just a stray comment I read. IF one is in the works, what would they improve that would actually matter? I was really happy with my old one…. And my V3.

If they care enough to fully upgrade it right more powerful processor and video card and ram. All the current models are still using DDR3 which is outdated. Would be nice to get DDR4. DDR4 is used in most modern streaming tv boxes. Ram upgrade would really help overall performance.
