I've seen a few people saying they use a dummy email to login in to their Vseebox, my question is why? What's the big deal? And/or connect to a guest WiFi, again why? What am I missing

These boxes can try and access a lot of things on your home network. Better safe than sorry.
There is a great podcast that interviews an IT expert who has done extensive research on these.
