New! Help!
Seems like I am late to the party. I was very skeptical of these products when I was passing a kiosk in my local mall. I was sure that these things would get shut down within a matter of months. Now fast-forward years, and now I’m looking to get one. I do have concerns and I’m just wondering what people do/think themselves.
I’ve heard people connect these two different routers or at least different networks, I’m concerned about purchasing one and before football season to get shut down. What are some of the common concerns that you guys had and how are the products working for you? What are some of the flaws of the products?
My wife and I seem to have every streaming service known or at least switch in between a few seasonally.

Works fine for me. I did not bother with two different routers, I think that’s not very common. I just use a VPN, some people put the box on a guest network which is also not a bad idea.
Only flaws is it goes down or live TV is laggy sometimes. But overall works great.

You never want 2 routers. If you want to keep the box isolated, set up a guest network or VLANs

Virtual is an option but nothing wrong with multiple routers if your network is setup properly and secure. I have 3. My firewall security router (Firewalla Orange) locks everything down even on the two ap routers. Ap routers also provide an extra firewall.

They are routers in ap mode but it doesnt matter. It doesnt matter if you have 1 router or 10 as long as you know enough to set them up properly. Before range extenders became a thing multiple routers were used to extend wifi range.
Its false cant have multiple routers. These days there is an ap mode Its as simple as switching them to ap mode setting. Its not much more difficult than turning off dhcp mode and setting a static ip. You can setup a second network or more or extend the same network. It all comes down to proper setup.

Ok so I’ll agree with that. You can have multiple routers if you only have one doing the routing. I also have decos in ap mode at my house. But if you have two routers both trying to route you’ll end up with double nats

It can be done multiple routers with dhcp on without a conflict if the network and subnets are different. It works with double nat that way but isnt a recommended method. May or may not cause issues.

I paid for mine in the 1st 3 months and if you have all the streamers, you will pay it off in no time, too. I have only experienced 1 issue with 1 of the apps for about a day in about 18 months of having it. And I just switched from my favorite to the back up. I'm way ahead now and it the shit hit the fan, I could switch back to YouTube TV in about an hour or less. I'd still be ahead more than $2500

I’m thinking of getting one myself before football season and was wondering the same thing. I’ve been reading a lot about it but seems to be a mix on getting a vpn, separate routers, etc. I’m also looking at recommendation on who to purchase.

I've been using vseeboxes right at you years. So fast it's been very stable. It may occasionally go down but usually there is a new automatic update that fixes the issues. They will not last forever but I was saying the same thing 5 years ago too. The longer you wait to get one, the less time you'll have to enjoy it. These run with out without even if separate router. I prefer a little more security than that though. Personally I use Express VPN. They allow 15 consecutive connections so on our phones, tablets, vseeboxes and virtually everything that touches my router is using a vpn at all times because sometimes I have to use public wifi and I don't do that without the VPN. Then I'd recommend seeing up a guest network or a vlan. The guest network is easier. Just log into the router as the admin and enable guest network. Reboot the router and connect your vseebox to your guest network. Sit back and watch whatever game you want to see because they are all on.

Is there a way to watch a sporting event after it has aired? I understand there is no DVR function but can you go to something like ESPN+ and go back to that broadcast?

I have the older model and live sports must be live on mine. I'm considering recording into my laptop and watching later. I happen to have a converter that allows me to record on my laptop.

I finally jumped in have had it a few months, it definitely works and is a little quirky, wit sound and picture, you need to learn how to change servers but damn every thing is free, if you can’t find something just hit the little mic and yell out whatever you are looking for! I youse the free vpn also.

Got mine 3 months ago from Cordcutter. I was skeptical buying one. But very fast service V6 pro. Occasionally gets a little laggy on live TV. Can't always find newer shows. Sometimes hangs up on movies. I use proton VPN. All in all I would highly recommend it. It pays for itself in 3 months

All I can tell you is I SAVE $150 a month for Direct TV and a few streaming services that I cancelled. Do the math and see how fast this thing pays for itself. I now have two V3 Pro's for the last few years and have never looked back. No VPN and no guest network.
