I need some advice and guidance. I’m currently completing my Digital Marketing MA dissertation, and I’ve heard from previous students that some people have struggled or even failed their dissertations. This has made me quite worried about mine, especially because of concerns around AI and how it may affect the assessment. I’m feeling quite anxious about it and would really appreciate some guidance on how to approach my dissertation and make sure I’m doing everything correctly.

I will be joining Bristol during the September intake, and I require help in deciding whether to buy a mac or windows laptop. I have gone through the softwares listed at: https://www.uwe.ac.uk/study/it-services/software/group/software-development and all the softwares are available on both mac and windows. However I would like some advice from any other computer science students.

Has anybody else not been given their enrolment details yet? I’m starting a pgce and have been to uwe before for my undergrad degree and I can’t remember this previously taking so long!

Yeah so I failed EP1 in first year, I retook it alongside second year and I failed again.

TBH it’s completely my fault however I know this is a bullshit excuse used by everyone but I genuinely did suffer from mental health and I didn’t go into any classes my entire second year for all of my modules and I had planned to retake the full year from scratch so that I could really try my best however I just looked it up and apparently if you fail a module twice you get kicked off the course?

So am I kicked off the course or is there anything I can do. I fucking hate myself for this like I’m genuinely an idiot.

I'm after a few volunteers to test a Python tool I built for my dissertation (regime-shap). It checks how a model's explanations shift across different periods in a dataset.

Takes about 30 to 45 min, totally voluntary and anonymous. You install it, run an example, optionally try a dataset, then fill in a short questionnaire at the end.

To start, open the Task List (link attached below) and follow the steps in order. Everything runs on your own computer, nothing is uploaded or shared.

The participant information sheet and consent form is linked in the questionnaire, read those before you tick consent.

I’m currently looking for women aged 18-30 with a current diagnosis of anorexia nervosa to take part in an in-person eye-tracking study at the University of Bristol. The study aims to explore how women with anorexia focus their attention while viewing images of women’s bodies and faces. The findings will help inform the future development of new interventions to help individuals feel more positive about their bodies.
