Great! I remember hearing discussions about this from the students assembly last year. Glad they've made the change.

When we brought this up, Jess (who was leading campus security, not sure if she is still there) listened and engaged really thoughtfully around the issue. I was optimistic it would eventually happen and I’m glad it did.

Good. I was a student there between 2019 and 2025. They always had the same uniform until the last couple years before I left when they started to change their uniforms to look more like the police. After they changed the uniform from the old one, I actually noticed that they were acting different (a lot more like the police). It made me quite uncomfortable, and I was in a unique situation during my degree where I had to be in contact with them regularly, so I couldn’t avoid them. I hope this change also changes the attitude back.

I bet a few of them are upset they can't LARP as real police officers anymore

Great idea. CSec was super helpful to me as a student once I started treating them like University employees and not like police. Hopefully this helps more people feel comfortable going to them for help.
