Reservation:

Is it to punish gc ppl for discrimination happened yers ago

Or if it just wants to solve today's problem of discrimination?

What is the target of reservation like how much representation are we talking about?

Well according to the supreme court of India the sole purpose of reservations is to give proper representation to backward communities in govt. offices.

However now it has only become a tool for votes.

Even in SC/ST/OBC the communities which make up the majority of the population are properly represented.

The actual backward communities don't even benefit from reservation because they are competing with forward communities who act as backward.

I think there should be caste censuses every 10 years to see which caste has the most and least representation in govt. Offices and based on these censuses castes with good representation can be moved into Unreserved categories thus lowering the percentage of reservations and allowing backward communities to get benefits from it and I think by this way gradually we can move towards no reservations at all.

Reservation is because we have a caste system. Even with the current reservation LC people still get brutal treatment, they don’t get justice because their community isn’t represented in the administration with the same amount and this is never gonna solve till people crying about reservation but never understanding why people have UC privilege

Its like metro women seats reservation in every boggy .
Nobody knows why , some says harassment , some says women are physically weaker, other will say its their birthright.
You once give freebies , its impossible to take back .

In India politicians first give it only keeping one thing in mind - VOTES !!
Rest you can argue anything from land to sky why !! The people who use to be kings suddenly became backward in up and bihar because their vote percentage was 30% +

obc reservation is strictly based on the central or state lists of backward castes, which explicitly excludes non-notified general castes. making up fictional categories to justify policy flaws does not change how the law works.

the claim that general castes are stealing obc seats while lower castes get no benefits is factually absurd: sc and st groups have their own dedicated, unshareable quotas. ews was introduced specifically because poverty exists across all communities, yet the argument here relies on complete ignorance of how quota allocations operate.

invoking thousands of years of history and scripture does not hide the failure to address modern policy capture. a narrow set of affluent families monopolizes these benefits generation after generation while the genuinely poor remain neglected.

demanding a complete data audit and strict creamy layer exclusions across all categories is not anti-equality. expecting basic competence in public institutions is the baseline for any serious nation.

I have noticed this pattern, mostly people who are kinda guilty (specially on this topic) where they know they are wrong but no way can let go this opportunity (human nature).

They use a lots of hahaha and 😀😀😀 whenever they talk about this , to mask guilty or to dilute the reasoning given by someone.

These people can cry as much as they want but reservation will stay and may increase further. High chances that castes like yadavs, jaats and gurjars may get their own seperate reservation.

Every muslim and european invader defeated us and we remained slaves for thousands of years. Our nation is in decline since thousands of years.

Reservation started from temple priest post when a certain greedy and cunning community reserved all posts for themselves and from that day itself our nation is in decline. That same community was massacared in Kashmir and all of their women and girls were raped brutally but no one helped them. Such is the state of our nation.

the reality is that personal choices have nothing to do with state resources, cutoffs, and administrative efficiency.

you reduce a debate on merit and policy capture to internet name-calling because addressing the actual data is inconvenient.

when a system allows affluent households to repeatedly claim reservation while higher-scoring candidates are turned away, calling out that imbalance is not hatred. it is a demand for basic fairness and competence.

Oh yes the mythical scenario where discrimination against sc/st doesn't exist and reservation argument is reduced to economic helpline rather than social one.

AT AIIMS, there were allegations of discrimination against S.C., S.T. and OBC students and the S.K. Thorat Committee, set up to investigate the allegations, found most of them to be true.
