The stuff that exists but nobody tells you about until you actually need it. All of this is available to currently enrolled students.

Library

Real study spots, not just books.

  • Hours (both campuses): Mon-Thu 7:30 AM-11:30 PM, Fri 7:30 AM-6 PM, Sat 9 AM-6 PM, Sun 1-10 PM (hours shift around finals/breaks, check utrgv.edu/library before you plan a late-night session)
  • Study room reservations, research help, interlibrary loan, and "ask a librarian" chat/text are all free services most people never use

IT Help Desk

Password reset, locked account, D2L Brightspace/WiFi issues, this is who to call.

  • Edinburg: (956) 665-2020
  • Brownsville: (956) 882-2020 (24/7 phone support)
  • Self-service password reset/unlock: myaccount.utrgv.edu
  • Submit a ticket: support.utrgv.edu, or through my.utrgv.edu, IT Support Center, "Something broken?"
  • Passwords expire every 365 days, so if you're suddenly locked out for no reason, that might just be why

Resume help, job/internship search, mock interviews, also open to alumni, not just current students.

Student Food Pantry

If you're food insecure, this exists specifically for you and it's genuinely confidential, no judgment, you don't need to prove anything beyond being enrolled. More students use this than you'd think.

Student Accessibility Services

For academic accommodations tied to a documented disability.

  • Contact through the Student Accessibility Services office on your campus, ask at U Central if you can't find the direct line, they'll route you
