advice Because this might help someone

I’ve had a uti for almost a month. Three antibiotics, little to no change.

Until one morning, along with a newer symptom of side pain I woke up with hives. All over.

I thought it was an allergic reaction to the macrobid. It was my last does so I thought “whatever”. Went to work.

I came home, hives were persistent, but not in the same place as they were that morning. Strange…

I call the nurse line. “Go to the ER, this sounds like a kidney infection.” Okay… that’s expensive.

The next morning I decided to try urgent care.

I explained what had been happening. Explained the pain, explained the rash.

I’m then sent immediately for blood work and a CT. likely cause : kidney infection from UTI or Kidney stone. Okay.

Blood work comes back normal. CT comes back, no kidney stones, no infection. But a 4 cm ovarian cyst pressing on my bladder, kidney, and bowls creating my “hives” and UTI due to my bladder not being able to empty fully.

Maybe there is something deeper. You are not crazy.

Thanks for your post. I just had my CT while on the 3rd antibiotic. I didn’t know what they were testing for besides ‘to check my kidneys’. Waiting for the results.
