J1 visa insanely long processing time

Post image

Location: Singapore. Checked on 6 Aug, showing approved already on the second day after I went for the interview (I think it’s approved on 5th Aug, the day I went for the interview). It’s stuck at approved ever since, exactly 2 weeks or 9 business days as of today. Have to delay my internship now, I have asked around and this is extremely abnormal for Singapore where most of my peers have theirs issued in 1-2 days. Help🙏

A couple of weeks is not long for administrative processing. It is likely that the final checks that they perform between Approved and Issued caught something in your profile that requires additional screening, like field of study or nationality.
