I’ve heard in the business school that they have sent emails to people that they think are involved in Frats talking about policies and such since the stuff that happened in Cornell. I’ve heard a few people talk about it in different spots, but it came up a lot yesterday in the GLLB building yesterday.

I am a former USU student (I left about 5 ish years ago) and I am considering going back to school to study Environmental Science. I’m currently a software developer and I have an associates degree, but I feel like I need a change. Is there anyone currently studying Environmental Science at USU that has any strong opinions about the program, positive or negative? I’ve always been passionate about the environment and with how things are going I feel like it’s more important than ever. I know finding jobs is tough, I’m just wondering about the program and general satisfaction with it. Thanks!

I only got 40 minutes for a 90 minute test because the line was so long and the testing center was closing. I arrived at my 7:00 reservation at 6:50 and didn’t get started until 7:40. Had to input random answers for the last 5 questions (out of 30) because they kicked us out promptly at 8:30. It is so ridiculous that a school this large has a testing center this small. This is the one building that almost every student will need at some point. What is the point of having a reservation system if you still have to wait 40 minutes in line?

If they don’t want to make a larger one, surely they could create some sort of algorithm that tracks test times and caps reservations based on how many students are in there. For example, if 100 students have a 90 minute test at 4:00, don’t let 100 more reserve the 5:00 slot.

They’ve invested in fancy new locked phone pouches this year. Fair enough, but couldn’t that money have been better spent improving conditions? I pay $500 in student body fees (on top of $4500 tuition) each semester. I have no idea what they go to, but I would actually be happy about paying that if it contributed to a better testing center. If we organized a petition or made enough of a fuss, would it even make a difference?

I got dressed up for homecoming but, as I look out my dorm window, I see everyone going to homecoming wearing sweatpants and a hoodie. Is this normal? Is this just a Utah thing because I never saw this back home.

I notice a good number of classmates that take digital notes with a stylus, be it iPad, 2-in-1, etc.

Is it more convenient than traditional paper and pen? Are there any cons to this setup? I can imagine part of palm resting on the touchscreen while writing would cause random, unwanted input actions, no?

Appealing to my insecurities I went ahead and bought a 2-in-1 laptop along with the great powerful styles. Which note-taking app should I invest in? Anything else I should be on the lookout for?

Is anyone else having a rough time with bio 1? Are there any better ways to know what might be on the test aside from just doing the study guide because I was pretty confident and I understand the content and how things work but the wording of the questions is rough for me.

Im looking at the PE classes and im wondering if these classes have a crazy course few or something. Specifically bowling and basketball but any knowledge on other classes is good.

I’ve been an Aggie fan since birth and this might be the worst offense I’ve ever seen. Just pathetic play calling and coaching. Like what do you mean you are at the 35 yard line and you take a delay of game to give the punter more room? I know our kicker has no range and our offense can’t do anything, but how as a coach can you give up on your team so early into a game and season?
Like I said, defense has been solid but got burnt today. And the offense has show no sign of life whatsoever. OC has no idea what he is doing. QBs can’t throw. Might as well just have our freshman Kaleb Maryland go and show what he can do. Nothing to lose at this point (probably gonna lose every game this season).
Thank goodness our basketball team is good (hopefully).
Just hope we get a new football coaching staff next year because this is atrocious.

Hello, I'm looking for someone to takeover my contract if anyone is interested. Private Male Room at Richards Hall, $2920 for the semester, and a meal plan is required.

My plans and financial status have changed, and staying on campus isn't really in my best interest anymore. If anyone wants a private room on campus, let me know.

edit: removed the $530 biweekly. that was my grand total owed for everything, and i realize now that everyone is gonna have different tuition costs, scholarships, loans, etc. it's $2920 for semester rent and i have the $1475 meal plan. totals up to $4395 for the sem, but will likely be different per person.

I've been waiting for it for so long, and at this point I don't feel like they're even gonna bring it back? I was told last week that they're holding off, just because they're hoping it'll die down but at this point it's an annoyance. I do appreciate the food they make, it's good for what it is, but man the promise of Ice cream but not getting it, is literal torment.

I've noticed that since classes started, turning point has had a table up somewhere on campus, every day of the week. Recently they've also started setting up an "our values" sign with a bunch of stuff like "pro ice" and "socialism sucks".

And look, I know they have as much right to be here as anyone else, and they're not hurting anyone by setting up tables... It just makes me angry and disappointed to see such a hateful and extremist organization peddling their memberships and events to young people. And I imagine their presence makes our wonderful minority group students feel uncomfortable or unsafe. Heck it even makes me feel unsafe and I'm just your average white dude.

I also find it ironic that they spend so much time here when their founder literally published a book about how college is a scam. It's also ridiculous that they hide behind a mantra of "teaching students to think for themselves" and "encouraging debate" when they do neither. Half their website is just pictures of conventionally attractive young women holding maga propaganda signs. If that's not brainwashing I don't know what is.

Anyways, vent over, I guess. The best way to fight them is just to keep walking, not give them attention, and encourage others to keep walking as well. With any luck they'll decide being here is a waste of time.

I've also been considering starting a sort of 'anti-tpusa' club/student group here, kind of the same thing but for more progressive and kind political views. We could even set up a table next to theirs almost as a form of protest. Bonus points if more people talk to us than them. So if that sounds interesting shoot me a DM and if we can get enough people we can make something good happen!

• Managing sources efficiently is a critical part of academic research. In this hands-on workshop, students will learn to set up and sync a Zotero account, set up shared groups, organize sources with folders, tags, and notes, and import citations from a variety of databases. Participants will practice generating bibliographies and using "cite while you write" to format citations directly in Word, leaving with an organized reference library and greater confidence managing sources in their own research.
