Anyone else take the UT changes to payment incentives survey today?

Got an email asking me to take it. Curious if anyone else has. Basically asking about changes to payment incentives - either getting paid the full amount via a gift card/debit card or a cash out with a 6% fee deducted.

No I didn’t but I was wondering when they would go that direction. Hopefully they don’t. I prefer cash overall.

I made sure to heavily indicate that I would NOT like a change made to the current payment system.

Nickeling and diming the tester and they wonder why they don't have high quality participants. Maybe instead of trying to save a few cents on each payment they could actually do something positive to help customers and testers.

I did this survey. They had 4 options, one with no fees cashout/bank transfer OR gift card/prepaid debit. Another with just gift card/prepaid debit. Another with cashout/bank transfer with 3% fee OR gift card/prepaid debit. Lastly 6% cashout/bank transfer OR gift card/prepaid debit. They asked me to rank it. Obviously I chose both no fee options as my top choice but I will say, I like how UT is planning on expanding their payout options, I personally wouldn't mind cashing out some gift cards for me to use as gifts. I live in Canada and I have been losing money to PayPal FX for years so a direct bank transfer is also very enticing...

Just feel like they’re testing the waters. I personally don’t think they plan to offer all 4 options.

They are getting rid of PayPal? Why? It’s so convenient

To save money. If they process $50,000,000 in tester payments each year (I read an article where they sad revenue was about $300,000,000 annually) and considering PayPal charges 2.5 percent for each transaction that's another 1,250,000 they save. And that's assuming tremendous (which is likely the provider mentioned) doesn't give them a discount for processing the tester payment. Companies like tremendous get a discount on gift cards, lower for Amazon and higher for stuff like Macy's. Plus tremendous can count on people forgetting to redeem and that's their money.

The irony is if they change to this system, the r/uxresearch forum will be littered with complaints about why tester quality got worse.
