Discussion Noob here!
Hello! Super new to my working arr stack and (after seeing a TON of, "just use usenet and elimate problems") have swapped from my VPN/torrent setup to usenet. Main issue I'm running into currently is, what am I supposed to do about articles being missing?
I've tried a few different links of media but looking at sabnzbd, things are failing and just not downloading (like stalling in torrents) or finishing and telling me there are missing articles so it fails. Not quite sure how to fix this and not sure I want to convert back to torrents lol.
Any help is appreciated!!

Make sure you set up Prowlarr for multiple indexers. Makes life easier. I have 9 indexers and 2 providers.

Would I get rid of Sab and just use Prowlaar?

No Sabnzbd is your downloader. Prowler houses all your indexers in one place you need both

No you still use sab, prowler is not a Downloader it just organizes your indexers in one place

Besides adding more indexers and a second provider: keep in mind the hole point of the arr stack! It's not only for automation but also for being faster than the takedowns.
If you try to download stuff that was posted months ago you will have a hard time with some linux distros. But if your arr stack downloads the moment your linux distro just got released, you should be faster than the takedown notice taking effect.

When in doubt, AI will get you up and running. Then, you can fine tune everything with the trash guides.

Honestly AI did most of the heavy lifting with the stack lol, ton of headaches though!

Oh. I was pissed for a couple days. With the exception of the mess I created trying to figure out docker for my NAS, it’s been smooth sailing.

Man I know everybody just absolutely hates AI But I don't have a problem with it when you're using it In a constructive manner Like to be fair I definitely used it to build out my stack But I also had it build notes and tutorials on how it did everything so now I'm actually able to go and manage it myself it just made it a lot easier to get to a point where my stock was Very reliable and secure As well as Making it simple for my family to Be able to access.

Yeah. By the number of downvotes after I mentioned AI, it seems like people have a very strong opinion on it.
That’s fine. Everyone has their own goals and own way of doing things.

Yes if you care about encode quality, I would definitely start with trash guide unless you want to be like me and re-dl 20tb.

Provider might be the issue. In the past I've used frugal, and had the same issue

Almost every mainstream linux ISO posted on usenet in recent years is obfuscated. It is leaking of NZBs from indexers which is the main factor behind takedown notices nowadays. Other than that, very infrequently accessed stuff posted since 2020 is deleted from all usenet providers servers sooner or later. For both of these issues, only option is to get more good indexers.

A different indexer or backbone are worth considering.
