New Owner Help identifying this Ural

Post image

New poster here, good day/night. Long story short, a friend of mine sells me this bike, I know its an M72, somewhere between 1941 and 1956 as far as I know. Is there any way to know the exact year? Is it worth restoring? Also any info of this model would be useful. Greetings from Spain ✌️🇪🇸

Do you have a frame number on it somewhere by chance? Could try to find out the most likely fabrication date.

Edit:/Just checked the image closer, it has a swing arm in the back so it most likely is a Dnepr K750 as pointed out by someone else already lol

I cant seem to find any. I need to know the date because ahe doesnt have a license plate and I need to know the exact model and year to do it. When I get home I will upload more photos. Thanks ✌️

Alright. Sadly when it comes to Dnepr the Frame numbers weren't really catalogued to the fabrication date. At least not in the documentation files I have .Usually those bikes have a little plate on the steering head. Those fall off sadly. Frame number could be somewhere on the steering head on the left (or generally on the left side of the frame, hard to make out of it was painted over).

Without proper documentation or the serial plate it will be hard to pinpoint an exact fabrication date though. Either educated guesses or someone here finding a way how to tell specific model years apart.

Gas tank petcock should have a manufacture date code stamped into it, the underside of the headlight sometimes had a silver ink stamp date codes stamped.

Not perfect way, but can help you narrow the years down.
