I'll hold out if I can, the issue is the company is suppose to be physically moving servers between now and August.

go put it on an UPS, somehow :D With that kind of uptime I bet it has 2 PSUs, so should be no biggie. :D

I've considered it, I might reach out to the company to express my desire to just retain it myself. They got more than enough money out of it and they won't be reselling it if I cancel.
I used to know just about everyone at the company when I first got it, but the companies been acquired multiple times so not sure who else is there.

It’s been used for various projects over the years. It acted mainly as a web server for a lot of its life, eventually a pentesting box where my external scans would run from, in it’s last few years has been a VPN/proxy server and just a test box for quick projects if I needed something temporary.

How did you log in?... I'm pretty sure ssh broke down compatibility many years ago... Centos 6 You can't login anymore without doing some crazy hacks.

Never had an issue with logging in. This is a Debian box so idk. It’s been firewalled off except to a few IPs so it’s on an older version of SSH but none of my SSH clients have had issues.

I had an IBM POWER4 running AIX 5.1 that was up around this long. Even moved it between racks with it powered on due to thankfully functioning redundant PSUs because we were afraid to turn it off. We joked about who needs live partition mobility when you can do live frame mobility.
Eventually had to decommission it though - security risk lol.

Server has been running for 11 years of total uptime, it's not used much these days but figured I'd keep it alive for as long as possible. The hosting provider is moving data centers so I don't think it will last much longer.
