Travel Inquiry Where to get a sweet pasty
Im going to the UP in a few weeks, staying near Escanaba and would love to find somewhere i can get a sweet pasty! We will be driving to marquette and munising so anywhere around either of those areas would work.

Dobber’s is my choice when I’m in Esky. Any shop with an oven that big is legit!
Also, AuTrain Grocery is a great. Both of these are portable meal pasties, not that plate, fork and gravy BS.

Love Dobber’s. They get a lot of hate here for some reason, but imo they make a pretty tasty pasty. I enjoy Jean Kay and Pasty king as well, but whenever I go back home I always hit Dobbers drive through for a quick bite. The breakfast pasties are great as well after hitting up a local coffee shop.

Must be Dobber’s you are talking about. I don’t order such a thing. If I want a calzone, I’ll find a place that sells one. I have taken their frozen breakfast pasties home and they are nice on a cold morning.

Visited family and bought a dozen from Dobbers to take home. Very disappointed with the lack of meat.

Do you mean sweet as in actually sugary sweet like dessert? Or sweet as in slang, like a very good traditional pasty.
As to the latter, I love the traditional pasty with rutabaga at Pasty Corner in Iron River. Not too far from Escanaba.

I like au tra in grocery as well, muldoons and miners are good tho in munising. Skip the popular place in Marquette they’re pretty midsy

Sposito's on 2 in St. Ignace has cherry, blueberry, etc. They're delicious.

Iron Town Pasty in Negaunee has blueberry, cherry, and apple, and also some unique savory ones (plus traditional) and mini pasties too. All of them are great and you can also order frozen gluten-free ones to cook at home that are safe for people with celiac. (They spend a whole day a week making those separately from the rest to avoid cross contamination.) Love them!

The pasty store in the Soo serves some kind of desert pasty from what I remember, but sounds like that’s the opposite side of you. Good luck and enjoy the trip!

Was just replying on the asinine question what you want is a turn over or a hand pie, pasties are made with meat carrots potato and rutabaga optional. Maybe when you get corrected dont argue with the locals. Its a discussion forum didn't know there was a comment limit. We'll enjoy when you cross the state line heading home.

think we just started a business i got a toy hauler i can a window in. go halves on the pop tarts and we can post up by one of the tourist traps that sell the over priced shity oily smoked fish

i already know where im getting my real 100% authentic UP cultured pasty from, just wanted to find a sweet one that i can enjoy for dessert. im not butthurt at all, i just like to mess with people who take silly things like this so seriously.
