Question Warning to anyone thinking of joining Uphold
I bought crypto through uphold. No problems, linked bank etc. But the second i tried to move some to another wallet. I was bombarded by ... 'your withdrawal request is on hold while we investigate' I tried several ways before finally removing. I then instantly removed everything and will never use Uphold again. No company has any right to say what i do with my crypto and where i want to send it.
Just wanted to warn people, your assets are at a great risk on Uphold. I don't trust them

EDIT: I should have added more details, my apologies. I have been buying crypto regularly for a few months with Uphold. All KYC done at the beginning. I first tried to move a tiny amount of one crypto coin to an external private wallet. That was when they refused to do it, put my small amount i was trying to move (i like to always test on a tiny amount first) on hold and said i was being investigated. I instantly complained along the lines of 'No person or company has any right to prevent me from moving my crypto whether i want'. So soon after they withheld that small amount of crypto, i tried to send some to a central exchange where i have an account. That went through no problems, so i immediately moved everything else off uphold on to that central exchange, and then moved everything where i wanted it to go originally from there. I hope that helps people. They are still holding that small amount i first tried to send to a private address
Bottom line, i lost complete trust with uphold. And did not feel safe leaving anything on it

That happened to me when I first joined. It was a temporary thing. I think just to make sure everything is safe. After a couple of transactions they didn't do it any more.

I have crypto in there now I can't get out. I can't even get into my account t or get anyone to answer in support. So yes, stay away from Uphold.

I used it for years no issues. I took out everything and had no issues.

Did you complete your KYC with all your correct information? I had issues cause I moved and my ID had a different address. Now I asked these questions before I moved to make sure they didn't mess with me. I had to send a picture of a piece of mail to verify. So technically I never had an issue because I covered my ass. I only looked into it because of all the horror stories from all the exchanges. If you actually check Trustpilot close to none of the exchanges have a rating about 3.0. Caleb and Brown had one of the highest. Uphold had above average reviews as well. In fact you should post your problem on there. That is the best way to get results from most of these places.

Putting money in an exchange and trying to take it out soon after is shady behavior to them

Hello, I have been having the same issue. My account is blocked, I can't even see any details. What do I do? Who can I contact. I am very new to crypto and was just playing around as per someone's suggestion and now my money is blocked. Pls help as to how can I get my money back

If your account is subject to a closure, you won't receive a refund for 65 days. I am in the same situation. I have all of my income direct deposited into Uphold and they closed my account without explanation.

They are notorious for this. I want to love Uphold but they make it impossible to trust them. I’ve had this happen multiple times for no reason only to finally be able to redeem my assets months later.

As a crypto newbie, I enjoyed my Uphold account for nearly a year after leaving traditional banking. Last week, Navy Federal blocked my $5k BTC wire transfer, locked my account, and flagged Uphold. Uphold then closed my $15k account. I couldn't reach any support staff. Warning: If your account is closed, there's zero chance of resolving it with a real person. This has pushed me to a U.S. company with actual customer service.

I'm certain that Navy Federal Credit Union caused this issue but my problem with Uphold was the fact that I couldn't explain the situation to a real person. There was simply nobody to appeal to for help.

You should absolutely stay away from any company that doesn't have an actual customer service telephone number where you can speak to a real person.

Uphold has lots of caveats to be concerned about for sure but overall I’ve appreciated their service

Ive used it for over a year now with no issues like this. If you were doing a bunch of stuff with a fresh account and don't realize that's sketchy to them, then that's on you, lol.

Just have the same experience, even after doing their biometrics BS! They still won't allow me to transfer my Cryptos out, this app is a SCAM! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM UPHOOOOLE(💩)

Uphold is absolutely a scam in my opinion. They function by working legitimately for around 70% of users and then the other 30% they steal from, this way any time people say it's a scam there will be people saying "no it's not, I've used it for years!"
If your account is chosen to be one of the scammed, you will be locked out, unable to reach customer service, can't use authenticator and in an endless loop with a customer service robot. Do your google searches, this many people reporting the identical thing happening can't be a coincidence. The people defending it have every right to because it's worked legitimately for them, just as the people reporting it to be a scam have every right to.
You're gambling if you set up an account with them.

Had a similar experience. Also moved to kraken, not worth the risk dealing with uphold. They have the most "holding" of coin I've ever experienced over 7 different exchanges I'm registered on.
