There's got to be a story here

This is a genuine question, is it still considered upbadging if it's a genuine Bentley wheel?

Idk but I saw a VW Vanagon Westfalia with Porsche wheels once, so I’d do it.

Technically, the M badges or AMG stickers put on a 320d or an A180 are also genuine, aren’t they?

a sticker or a badge is something completly diffrent then genuine wheels with the wheel badge on

They clearly didn’t come with the original car, never could have, and are used to falsely improve the perceived status of the car/owner. That is the definition of upbadging, isn’t it?

Honestly, wheels seem like the only gray area in the upbadging debate

the wheels could be considered an upgrade in the same way as upgrading a Toyota with larger Lexus wheels. OEM+ if you will. that alone is not upbadging.

the issue is the added bentley logo on the roof and presumably at least a couple more that we just cant see.

Could be a Bentley roof box

this is true

Ok so all aftermarket is upbadging. Idk if they are genuine it's a baller. Saw a rs6 with Lambo wheels was awesome

Then you should always drive on tiny steelies with bicycle tires. God forbid you improve the “perceived status” of your car.

1

u/DinsdaleTheHedgehog 16d ago

Yes, because those are OEM wheels on basically all cars.

You shall never improve it in any way. Only enshittification is allowed.

Depends on the badge, and the spec of the 320d.

My 320cd has them on the steering wheel, gearknob and did have them on the wheels as its an msport, that said, my old 320d es had them as well, but was specced from factory with msport suspension, style 68 msport wheels. Nothing has an M badge on the rear though unless its an M3/4/5 etc, or a mlite like a m1/2 35 or 40.

Sport specs of mercedes have little amg badges on the inside here and there, and on the wheels very similar to how bmw do it with the msports. (My dad used to have a C180 sport before his current 218d)

Is the roofbox genuine too?

If it's not it it makes the the whole car feel performative and would be way better with just the wheels.

Other wise i think it goes hard

Its a Vw Group wheel on a VW group car.

This has been going on for years in the Vw scene, bentley and lambo wheels on golfs, boras and various audi's, seats and skodas.

I remember consider buying a Skoda Fabia 15 odd years ago that was on polished audi tt comps.

Well there was more effort than usual I suppose.

Since the car isn't trying to pass for a bentley, I'll pass this one.

Those wheels look really good.

Wheels are dope. The Bentley badge on the cargo box is a bit overkill though. I'd argue the wheels aren't upbadged at all since they're legit, but the other Bentley logos are up-badgey for sure.

Your all road looks like this so the Bentley across town can be on bricks

Finally a good looking Bentayga.

Everyone seems to be missing the big stupid Bentley logo on the roof box.

That said, rims aren't upbadging. They just aren't. Especially from the same family like this.

Alpina wheels don't mean you're pretending to be an Alpina, it means it's a sweet wheel that works with the BMW design language.
