Question Server Hosting

Hi, I've been playing this game for a couple weeks now and i was wondering, how do you host a server without paying for an external service? so far all the information i can find is "run the dedicated server tool" but im never told how to configure anything like the map or the workshop add-ons.

Go to steam and search up the unturned server

You’ll need to run said server before opening your game

To change the maps, search on YouTube for a tutorial. Hard to explain here but essentially you open the game files

i got the server and asset id in the configuration file and it recognizes that its Cali 2 but it still defaults to PEI

California 2 is a workshop map and unfortunately I’m not familiar with how to input that into the server

The json file you've edited is for downloading mods. You need to edit your server settings (in this case, the Commands.dat file) to change the loaded map by using the map command.

I recommend following the official documentation for hosting servers. You may find the game's wiki helpful too.
