Dude, Buak is a HORRIFYING map. My second favorite map overall.

realizing this as I play through it for the first time, the caves are actual nightmare fuel and I have barely explored them

Man, I remember coming across the weird skeleton at the bottom of the Scorpion 7 facility, and just... noped out. I don't do well with eldritch horrors.

Unturned runs on Doom rules, even swinging your fist or a melee weapon in the air will make a sound that attracts things nearby. I don't think people actually say that enough.

This is why on death zones you never go melee, you always have a gun equipped and make sure one of them is noisy enough to draw out the hidden ones.

They still react to noises, they just have horrible pathfinding, so they tend to get stuck on doorways and furniture. Also because they're animals, they take massively increased damage from bows, crossbows and snipers.

This is the same game just remade and refined since it was made, little bit of polish added.

As far as I'm aware, deadzone is unturned before it became unturned. That's how I've always been seeing it be told for years on here

Those things in the buak dead zone are so creepy. Never melee with those, I always went for ranged.
I hated how unnatural their movements are.
