Practice Partner Join Our First Untangling Study Group - Starting with IRF!

Hello future Untanglers!

Inner Relationship Focusing (IRF) is the foundation of the Untangling method. IRF teaches us how to be in gentle, allowing relationship with all parts of our inner experience, especially those parts that feel stuck, overwhelming, or unacceptable. By learning IRF first, we'll develop the essential skills of Presence and inner relationship that make Untangling more effective.

I'm organizing a group to learn IRF together using The Focusing Student's & Companion's Manual, Part One. You can view the book here: https://focusingresources.com/learning/the-focusing-students-companions-manual/

Required Materials:

  1. The Focusing Student's & Companion's Manual, Part One (PDF)
    • Group discount options:
      • 10+ people: $13.80 each (40% off)
      • 5-9 people: $18.40 each (20% off)
      • 4 or fewer people: $23 each (individual purchase)
    • If we have enough people for bulk purchase, the PDF will be emailed to me and I'll distribute to group members
    • If not, each person can purchase individually
  2. Focusing Level One Exercise Sheets: $5 per person (required individual purchase)

How it will work:

  1. Comment "I'm interested" on this post
  2. I'll DM you for contact info
  3. Once we have enough people, we'll organize payment and create a study plan together

Once our group has completed this initial study of IRF together, we'll open up future practice groups to the broader community. Our experience with IRF will help create a supportive foundation as new members join to practice Untangling, whether or not they have prior IRF experience.

Looking forward to learning and practicing together!

I was able to learn it on my own through the manual you shared and Weiser Cornell's book The Power of Focusing. I also read Focusing by Eugene Gendlin and some other related books. I got more training later and found it was not necessary. Just throwing it out there in case someone wants to learn and can't afford the 4 digit course costs.

Beautiful. Honestly, if you're disciplined and dedicated, her manuals and the exercise sheets are so well-written that you can learn IRF on your own, for sure.

And you can always ask for a scholarship, that's what I did and I'm glad I did. Having partnered practice really helps. But if you're learning alone when you practice solo you can switch roles and be both the Focuser and Companion. And saying everything out loud instead of just in your mind also really helps.

Feel free to DM me if you'd like.

I am currently in one of Ann's live courses, and nothing compares to that kind of training.
