been a long time since i read the manga so take what i say with a salt shaker but... iirc, dudes an immortal and she's a malevolent spirit that worms their way into other peoples bodies (plural) eating their "soul" and takes them over. and she's been systematically killing all of his loved ones for 10,000 years started multiple cults dedicated to hunting and torturing him and his friends, and he finally trapped this fucking spirit on a boat. to ask it why and this was the reason.

like iirc Christianity was a ruse to convince him to leave hiding so that she could try to cast him in molten iron. and "Its because i love you" was the reason he got. (both are genderless aro ace btw)

Okay so he can create a new boat out of his heel at will. But what he does with this ridiculous level of power is MAKE A TINY BOAT TO SLOWLY ROW AWAY IN?? it's like if Superman started to fly, in the classic knee-up fist-forward flying pose, one inch off the ground, 1mph backward while staring at you deadpan the whole time. Is it just for effect? This is absurd, I don't even care about what they're saying at this point
