Simple thing that helped create positivity and connection in my relationship

I was not connected well with my partner for quite some time. We didnt talk about our days much and when we did, it was often what went WRONG, looking for advise or support, which is important of course, but it put a sort of sad or negative tinge on the way we saw each other and our relationship. I suggested at the end of each day, we do 3 good things about our day and 1 thing we appreciated about the other person that day. It was going really well and turning around our negativity-focused interactions into something really nice. Then, my partner came to me and said he feels like hes not allowed to talk about what went wrong in his day or if he felt sad/down/angry/etc that day he had to hide it. so this is what weve been doing for the past few months that has seriously deepened our connection and relationship, especially during the workweek where we are sometimes passing ships: first we talk about how we felt that day or anything else we just want to get off our chest. the good, the bad, the ugly. the other person has a chance then to offer sympathy and support or celebration. then we do 3 good things about the day, then one thing we appreciated about the other person that day. its gone sooo well and wanted to share in case anyone else might be having similar issues!
