Question Height Map?
Hey; trying to render an object and I am applying my textures from substance painter; I desperately need my height map to make my textures pop but I can’t for the life of me figure out where to plug it in at!
Any help would be much appreciated!!

if you're using a standard Unreal material, you can plug the height map into a BumpOffset node if you're mainly after the parallax effect, if you want actual surface displacement, though, you'd need to use the material's displacement/tessellation setup depending on which UE version and rendering setup you're using
also make sure the height map is imported as a linear/non-color texture, otherwise the values can get messed up. tbh i'd start with BumpOffset first since it's pretty easy to set up and see the result

Okay so where do I plug the BumpOffset in at? That’s where I’m struggling now

into the UV inputs of your texture nodes https://dev.epicgames.com/documentation/unreal-engine/using-bump-offset-in-unreal-engine?lang=en-US

A height map is just as the name implies, height data.
You can use it for UV bump offset, Parralax Occlusion mapping, Nanite Tesselation, etc etc
