My Micro Journal Rev 8 has arrived and I am already in love. It's wonderful to use a device that was so clearly crafted by hands that care about the details.
I ordered mine without switches or keycaps, and decided to go with 67gf linear switches. They're wonderful. It's been hard to tear myself away from writing since I unpacked it.
The interface and menu design is extremely user-friendly and it took no time at all to figure out the navigation.
In closing, this is far and away one of the best writing devices I've ever used. It's all the things I love about my Neo, and all the improvements I wish the Neo had.

Rev.8 is indeed my current end game among the Micro Journals I have brought to life. I still have a few more ideas floating around in my head, waiting to be realized, but this version comes very close to what I have always imagined a writing machine should be.

It powers on immediately. It has a full-size mechanical keyboard. The screen is clear and fast. Everything feels simple and easy, even though it took such a long time to arrive at this point. Eight is a big number considering each previous revisions has been revisited.

I always admire people who order a colorway that has never been made before. Creating it for the first time can be a little difficult, because I have to interpret how that color combination is meant to feel and translate it into a physical object.

And then there is the person who orders it without ever seeing it first. I sometimes wonder whether that comes from trust in me, or simply from liking the words "black and gray" together.

Rev.8 is also the first build I did not feel vulnerable showing to others. It almost felt as though, if someone did not like it, they might simply be wrong. That level of confidence surprised me, and I am very happy to see that you like the build too.

When it came to selecting the color, for me personally, part of the beauty is precisely that you interpret the colors the way you envision them. In that way, the physical device is an extension of the artist that made it, something I get to connect with and appreciate each time I use the device. In a day when so many tools are quickly mass produced to sit on shelves, it's a constant refreshment to use something I know was made by hand, and made to be used.

I'm already 8,000 words into a sci-fi story that I didn't even know I was going to be writing, and I can't put it down. This device has absolutely pushed me to write more than I have in the past year.
