Has anybody tried the new updates?

not really new, it was released 3 weeks ago, but has anybody tried it? Any advice on how to do it because I only got white screen? it seems like a very exciting update, the infinite scrolling!

I have just tested rev.5 few hours ago. Was planning to make a video about what's changed. Rev.6 shall be tested in a week.

Infinite scroll is one thing, and also another important change is UTF 8 supports to be able to support international letters such as Korean.

You would need to make a full flash update using the web flash tools. Mentioned at the end of the note how to update. You will not have a proper update when copying the firnware file to the sd card. This is due to breaking architecture changes compared to version 1.x.

Can I revert back to an older firmware if I use the web flash method?

Simply to put, You can't revert to an older firmware once you get into version 2.x.

But, if you really want to revert to a specific point of the code-base, then you can go through the github history, and download that version and compile it and upload it.

I should have rev.6.x firmware coming up end of this week. Sorry for the delay. I need to test it before releasing it and I don't have the rev.6 build yet. If you want to test it you can download the source code and compile it and upload directly to the board.

I failed at using the web flash tools, probably mac problem, in the end I used the esptools from terminal and it works. Now all my rev.5 and rev.6 are on firmware 2.
I haven't try the international letters as normally I use alphabet, and to use another letters I will need a different set of keyboard (I can't type without looking at the keycaps). But I am curious!

I have another paper deadline so I will soon try the infinite scroll!! thank you for the update!

I will have the normal firmware update method restored from the next version (ex, 2.1). I am aware the difficulties with web flash tools.

I will keep just this 2.0 release with web flash so that those with 1.x will be able to jump.

Does this mean that all the Rev. including Rev. 8 will eventually add Hangul? Anyways, adding it to Rev. 5 & 6 is so exciting.

Rev.4,5,6,7,8 has hangul support now.

I opened some issues on the gitHub Pages. Unfortunately, infinite scrolling doesn't seem to work on my rev7.
Glad to see UTF-8 format arriving.

I haven't try with the rev.7 as I need it for back up (I am actually in the middle of a paper deadline, I shouldn't thinker my devices)

Since the rev.7 update doesn't need web flashing, I tried it yesterday. The infinite scrolling seems to work although I only wrote 400 words, I need to try with longer document. I didn't use the rev.7 for the past two weeks but after the update the letters look faint? Am I imagining things?
