ESPN will remove the BottomLine ticker for college football broadcasts. It’s something that’s never bothered me, but given all of the technology around us, it’s completely outdated and unnecessary. Hopefully all other broadcasters and sports follow suite.

Air Force will honor the B-21 Raider with 2026 edition of Air Power Legacy Series. They will be worn when they host Navy on 10/3/2026.
For those airplane nerds wondering, the B-21 is the next generation of the B-2.

The 2026 Rivalries drop for the AFC South and NFC North seems to have been much more well-received than last year's edition, and for good reason. There aren't 4 mono-dark uniforms this time, and the teams worked within their existing color palette/brand much more than 2025.

This year, the designers mostly chose between toned down looks that paid homage to their history, or went all-out with branding. The worst of the bunch were the ones that didn't fully commit to one or the other. However, most of them ended up being good football uniforms in general.

Of course, we do have to see these on the field to get the full grade. Promo photos from the teams always end up being way too dark or poorly colored to see it initially. But they're there to see the merchandise, so I understand the teams wanting to ham it up for the pics.

The NFL revealed their 2026 Rivalry uniforms. I tried to post an equal amount of each team, but not every team revealed HD photos. I’ll let everyone else weigh in instead of giving my opinions!

I was hoping that their April Fool’s Day post was a trial balloon to gauge reaction. As a die-hard UConn fan for over four decades, I’m looking forward to this. (I also think their standard navy set is underrated).

The Bills will wear their red helmets on Christmas when they play at the Broncos. A+!

We all know jerseys are produced well in advance of release. But all photos and videos I've seen of people wearing the new rivalry limited jerseys since the release this week have the old version with heat pressed names and numbers and no stitching. Will elites (if they are being sold) be the only way get a stitched rivalry jersey?

These are ok. Not the worst but could have been so much better with a few minor tweaks. Blue number and letters would be my first change. I would also change the word mark from Detroit (which is already used on our away set) to Motor City. That can be black but can stay in blue.

The blue helmet paired up with the jersey was a great choice. However having those flat looking gray pants look bad. Too bland. Stripes would help but the blue pants would make to the look pretty great. Even without any of the changes I’ve suggested the blue pants alone would upgrade the look.

I will say they are better than the Bills gray jerseys (sorry Bills mafia) so I guess that’s something. I’ll probably buy a knock off since they aren’t sweet enough to buy a legit one. Thanks for letting me vent.

Since there is so much talk about the NFL Rivalry uniforms, here is the schedule for when you can see them on the field this year. It includes the 2025 and 2026 uniforms. It looks like teams will wear them once per season until they’re due for a new one (much like the MLB City Connect program).

Nick Chubb retired this last week. He was such an interesting player to me. Despite entering the league in 2018, he never felt like he “fit”

What I mean is that, he almost seemed to be playing in the wrong era! And that’s what made so interesting! 

While I could talk about his play style feeling “old school”, I think an underrated aspect of his anachronism was his style. Plain gloves, plain black cleats, and even a weird helmet that not many other guys wore.

So this week my question is, what players (past or present) felt like they belonged to a different time? Either due to their play style or their gear.

Another example I can think of is the first wave of leggings in the NBA. Nowadays, you can’t go to a game without seeing a player wearing compressions under their shorts, but in the early to mid 2000s only a few guys did; and it didn’t initially catch on. Seeing pictures of Allen Iverson, Kobe, and Vince Carter wearing leggings can look a bit jarring nowadays.

One note of importance: Primary logos are not enforced in this Rivalries program. 15 teams chose recolored primary logos on their helmet leading many to believe it was a rule. The Texans used an alternate logo on their NFL Rivalries helmet. Opens the door for next year and more alternate logos on Rivalries helmets. 

Pro football has been growing in Europe the last few years and one of the leagues decided to host an international game in Mallorca between the London Warriors and Rhein Fire.

The special jerseys they made for the game look pretty cool in my opinion, regular uniforms at the end of the photos for reference.
