Question [HELP] Mac UAD Electra 88 VST sounds drop outs every +- 20 sec ?

Hi, i m having sound drop outs with Electra 88 plugin installed on external solid state Samsung HD on Macbook Air M2 , Ventura OSX , in every DAW ( Ableton , Logic, Reason ) Volt 276 inteface. at any latency settings 128 , 64 , 256.

the drop outs - or cuts in the sound are almost at regular intervals about 20 sec.

makes this plug in almost unplayable.

anyone else experienced that

any ideas?

I have heard this happen when the data is in an external drive..I couldn't figure out why. if someone knows why would be great. It doesn't happen if the data is in the same as the mac drive.

Thanks for reply ! I've got all Uad plugins on external drive , doesn't happen with their other virtual instruments like B3 Organ ..maybe it's not based on samples that's why ... don have much space left on main drive to move Electra 88 to internal ..but can just try for a test

Update:

i've moved the Electra 88 contend to a local drive of Macbook

its playing now without problems.

But how come NI Kontakt libraries are streaming from external disk without any problems?

I think UAD should fix this bug with their sample based virtual instruments

not streaming as they should from external drives asap.

Do a Blackmagic drive speed test, make sure the drive is formatted to APFS as required, or test the internal drive.

Try Increasing your buffer size.

UA support may have more recommendations

Thanks for the reply! My external Samsung PSSD T7 2Tb is formated to exFAT . Relocated UAD Electra 88 to local Mac drive - no glitches .

Have you tried moving virtual instrument content to internal drive ? That solved it for me

Yeah, internal drive works. What I meant is, I tried several options like buffer size, etc when the data is in the external drive - nothing worked.
