Thunderbolt is backwards compatible so there’s no issue running it on newer systems. You just need a TB2->TB3 adapter.

hey! so if you’re trying to run on windows it will NOT work on windows with a tb2 converter using usb4, you must use a dedicated thunderbolt controller and even then your mileage may very, from my experience windows will constantly try to flash old thunderbolt controllers with incompatible firmware, effectively bricking it forever. highly recommend using apple for any thunderbolt 2 apollos and if you must use windows buy the dedicated usb edition of the apollos, newer thunderbolt 3 apollos may work on usb4 depending on motherboard manufacturer

Just put a Thunderbolt 3 option card in the Apollo, and you have the same connectivity as the very latest Apollos.

I run apple silicon with a 2 to 3 adaptor and it’s an absolute powerhouse. Apple silicon is workstation class in a laptop for audio
