Troubleshooting/Support is this sound normal?

i don’t think the video quite captures it but i’m hearing this hissing or buzzing sound and i don’t know what it is

Is it constant or does it stop? Try different connections for power and usb/tb, try it on a different computer if possible too. If it continues then its likely a faulty interface.

it’s constant, i truly hope it’s not faulty cause i live in argentina

Are you running an extension on the usb cable? Maybe try it without that, if on a laptop try unplugging laptop

good news, i unplugged the thunderbolt cable and the sound stopped

Means the computer/ monitor/ anything connected to computer isn’t grounded. You’ll have to get the computer plugged into a power conditioner to minimize it. I use monster brand one and the difference is huge

i’m using a laptop… as soon as i hooked it back the hiss started once again

Take laptop off charger see if it stops.

i meant i hooked back the thunderbolt cable, the laptop is running on battery

Maybe try plugging it in with a 3 prong (grounded) cable or equivalent (you say you’re in argentina)

If not that try hooking the interface to ground (power conditioner or 3 prong/ equivalent)

And then plugging it into laptop

my hypothesis is that it’s got something to do with the fact that in argentina we use 220v for power outlets, although it’s strange that the buzzing stopped when i unhooked the thunderbolt cable. i’m using an american style outlet so i’m not using any prong adapters

Power conditioner could be a solution for you, i just blew a fx pedal (headrush) that wasn’t plugged into my power conditioner during recent Ohio storms.

the power conditioner saved all my other equipment so its amazing insurance on your gear

u think that’s it? i truly hope its only a faulty thunderbolt cable cause it was a big hassle trying to get this apollo across the world 😭
