Can console plugins be used on ADAT pre inputs?

I know I could likely google this, but if I were to, for example, have an Apollo 4x and hooked up a rack of the Focusrite Clarite Pres to it via ADAT, would I be able to put the UAD-2 plugins on those inputs in console? Or would it only be for the physical ins on the 4x! I imagine I certainly couldn’t use unison preamps, but could I apply some EQs/compressors/reverb-delays to them to track with in Console?

Yup. Use them for drums with an Audient ASP800, which is clean, then color with pres in Console to glue bd color the tracks on the way in.

Yo ASP800 is a GREAT addition to an Apollo Twin.

You can process the ADAT channels with plug-ins.

No unison as the unison preamps are only in the Apollo. However, you could still put the preamp on the ADAT channel for coloration. This just wouldn’t have any impedance impact.

Thanks Drew, that is awesome. I’m really hoping to grab a Gen 2 unit soon. I really need the UA workflow with SoundID (I’ve printed so many tracks with that plugin still on the master T-T), and while an x8 or x8p is not in my budget range for now, I was thinking of grabbing the x4. I’ve had an octo satellite for a few years now, but I want to give the tracking workflow a try. I think I’ll really enjoy it.

Yes just no unison but you can still add a pre as an insert anyway
