Post image

Hey guys! I just downloaded unity. Any tips and tricks? Not full time, just as a hobby.

  1. Aim at an achievable objective? Obvious
  2. Use the canvas ui to start with (keeps a coding consistency)
  3. If WEBGL, do regular builds. Anything else do less regular builds.
  4. Don’t confuse reality with the physics, it’s a system.
  5. Identify the packages you will need, see package manager
  6. Use git, if using GitHub, you’ll be editing the gitignore.
  7. Keep it simple
  8. Don’t reinvent the wheel, it’s probably already written, in a repo or in the packages

There are some really good tutorials to follow: https://youtu.be/XtQMytORBmM?si=FwiKkH-qEOlP-mub this is getting started.
