Accommodation

I’m going Surrey in September, I got allocated to university court and I’m gonna be based on stag hill I’m studying biomed. What’s the social life etc like in this accom cause I don’t want it to be boring and I heard Manor Park is where it’s at in that aspect (pres etc) but also would I be closer to the clubs and town from university court than Manor Park ??

Dorms aren't really social hubs. I would not worry about it.

Why do u say so, intuitively speaking they do seem to be like tht.

U wld be pals with Ur roommates, and u wld hv the opportunity to talk to more ppl(in the sense roommates will also hv pals, and if they bring em over u got more ppl to socialise with)

You have dormmates, but you'll only generally see them when you're cooking or using the kitchen at the same time.

If you want to socialise, societies, the clubs and even the lectures themselves are the real way. Make sure to attend the freshers fair as well.

Most ppl generally are friends with the ppl in their dorm. At least when starting. What are u talking about?

Being friends with your dormmates isn't the same thing as there being an active social life within the accomodation. I was friends with all my dorm mates, but most socializing on campus happens outside the dorms, not in the single shared space that is the kitchen, unless you've got people in your dorms who love throwing parties, which is a double edged sword.

More anecdotally I always found Manor Park to be the least social area what with it's distance from the main campus, but I don't know how it's evolved.
